The bulk of the game consisted of City attempting to walk the ball in the back of the net. Passes for passes sake in the final third. Was painful to watch at times. Scum I think had 3 shots of any kind in the entirety of the game, including the goal which was very soft by Man City, presumably because they were utterly monopolising the ball they were not switched on.
cheers marra. did the mags have more throw ins though? Just trying to think of the spin Look North can put on it. Im sure the chronicle can replay on the playstation for a mag win.

No. We absolutely battered Man City. Had them pinned back in their own half for large parts of the game, but they managed to score 2 break away goals where our defence switched off. They were lucky to win. The stats tell a different story, but I know what I saw.
Should have had fat Ashley in goal, they would never have scored

The spin will be they kept it down to a 1 goal deficit but City should have had a lot more, in injury time for example Aguero had 3 players to his right waiting to tap the ball in but he seemingly tried some audacious chip which went horribly wrong.

It's abundently clear to anyone with half a brain that Benitez is managing his own reputation and nothing else. The narrative of the dreadful and evil owner depriving him of resources, yet Benitez managing to perform miracles, is beyond tedious now. They were second best to Cardiff ffs and were lucky to get a point. Some of the most consistently negative performances I have ever seen.

That lot up the road have swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

I actually, in a way, understand why he’d try and protect his own reputation, we all would.
It’s the fact his cult don’t realise this and think he’s doing it for the greater good in the battle against Ashley, and not in his own interests

He'd look very silly if Ashley sacked him, nearly at the end of his contract, Ashley could pay him out of his back pocket.

A second successive 2-1 defeat to a top-six side has once again yielded zero points, but the Magpies’ goal difference has not taken a pounding in the process.

Benitez forte is tightening up a defence and having a midfied of good passing players. He coaches them to play a cautious possession based game, hoping his top player (Gerrard for example) will produce a bit of magic. It's ideal for playing away in Europe but totally unsuited to that lot.

He's a sullen individual at the best of times, but he's clearly spat the dummy out with the owner now and will be off as soon as he can. Ashley won't give a monkeys
