Man City banned from Champions League

I'd be AMAZED if that ruling stands. The money men and the lawyers will get hold of this. Will be reduced to a suspended sentence and a smaller fine

City will appeal it

And likely win

FFP will be thrown out in a court of law - who's to decide what is financially fair or not?

UEFA rules are voted on by its co-members who then sign up to the Participation Agreements. So them.

You could argue FFP is anti-competitive and possibly win. Bosman did something vaguely similar at the ECJ.
You couldn't argue UEFA isn't competent to decide its own competition rules at CAS. You'd have to convince CAS UEFA hadn't proven a breach of its competition rules.

All about money..... Buying leagues and cups.. Not a dig at any Mags on here because Sunderland went through exactly the same but when was the last time you actually enjoyed a Premier league game among the mad scramble to retain the Premiership riches

Let's be honest FFP hasn't been brought in to protect clubs getting into debt and going bust. The principle driver is so that the established elite in European football can protect the current monopoly they have on the game.

They dont want the likes of City muscling in and taking over. Elite football stinks. Wish they would just piss off, form a European super league, and let the rest of us get on with it.

Or that the punishment is disproportional to the offence.
