Making the Play Offs only to lose

Our resources aren't though. We've just had 4 seasons of league one revenue, some clubs still have PL parachute payments. You're living with your head up your arse and not seeing what's happened over the last 5/6 as having an impact. Basically you're taking shite
Call me what you like but this club is one of the biggest in the country. We've been mismanaged but theres no excuse for thinking we should be consolidating in the 2nd division. If we think small thats all we'll ever be.
We aim to be in the Premier league and STAY there. Success can’t always be bought and it’s easy to say it can when it’s not your money.
Please quote me stating we need to buy success. I'm really interested in where I've posted this! Thinking and acting as a big club doesn't always mean throwing fortunes at a problem.

So how do we suddenly become infallible?

It's implied, if not explicit. Maybe it's better expressed that some say we don't want to go up in a particular season but would benefit from another season in the division we are in at the time.

Probably the same people who always said it would be good if we got relegated from the prem as we could refresh, cut the deadwood, etc.

We all know how that played out...

If at the very start of the season you were offered a playoff final defeat I'd have taken it like, it'd have meant a successful season.

That said I think we'll just fall short.

There isn't excuses, there's valid reasons. Reasons you're totally ignoring.

I'm ignoring nothing. I've not missed a minute of football over the last decade and I'm fully aware of what's happened. That's still not a reason to accept 2nd best and not aim for promotion.
:p
Don't you mean "ANY season spent in this league" rather than "no season spent in this league"?🤔
Well I'm not going to argue over grammar. I'm sure you speak proper English better than me

Irrespective, we've had a great season. We're back.
If we recruit wisely in the summer and keep the core of the squad together, we will be amongst the press picks as a contender for promotion and rightly so.

I see this comment a lot and yet I don't think anyone has ever suggested it.
there 's been lots of people on here saying we should consolidate this year and go up next year, If we have the chance to go up this year we need to take it, myself and others have been saying this for months now and that we cannot pick and choose, just look at Norwick and Watford at the beginning of the season they would have been considered shoe-ins to go back up but are falling away, if we can get promotion then let next year take care of itself, at the very least we will have gained a whole heap of dosh to better our playing staff, and i believe that some of our players could be a breath of fresh air to a very staid premier league.

Exactly. Some of our fans are complete quims.
Losing hurts, but giving up is far worse.

We’ve had Eastleigh level owners.

Some of our ‘fans’ are Eastleigh level now and are happy to see us ranked about 35 in the country with endless minnows in comparison above.
I hope the current regime are thinking bit. Im not convinced yet.

You're blindly saying we shouldn't accept this as a good season. We've played in the division below for 4 seasons and now we're in with a chance of the play offs. Your completely and utterly ignoring that. Despite what you say . Your head is completely up your own arse

I see nothing more the a defeat today at WBA. Two reasons. One being our massive injury list but mainly, I think our owners don't want us in the play offs. They think it's too soon. No matter how we've tried to fuck it up (Hull and Huddersfield at home), our nearest rivals have not taken advantage and here we are still in with a shout. TM will be told that we must lose this one.
Well that aged well.
Wrong day and wrong result.
