See this as the exact f***ing opposite to be honest.

Only the improvement of players will make it more competitive. That should be the only thing that has any influence too.

Isn't that what they're trying to do? Give the players opportunities to improve in different conditions?

According to the article, but I have zero faith whatsoever in FTECB doing the right thing. More than likely decide to drop the series to three Tests. Or some ridiculous points system that incorporates all formats - that'll be the death of cricket.

That's not on the agenda though and there's no suggestion it is. The talks are about test cricket only, dunno why you've gone off on a tangent and twisted things to suit a different agenda tbh. The Ashes will never be 3 tests, it's too much of a cash cow to be otherwise.

Seems like they'd be damned if they don't talk about it and damned if they do with some people.

I sincerely hope you're right.

I didn't really go off on a tangent did I? After all, FTECB have been f***ing up everything they've touched for a long while now. So it was perfectly on topic.

So answer me this, honestly, do you trust FTECB to handle this properly and get positive results?

On their own? No. Working with CA? Can't see why not.

Maybe if England realised that our players arent mentally string enough and did something about that it might help.

As soon as The Aussies apply the mental pressure - England fold.
