Making a Murderer (Netflix)

He mentions he got the ideas from a book 'kiss the girls', did a quick Google search when he first mentioned it and it is a murder mystery novel. Will look into this a bit more to see if it follows his story.
Yeah, just seems strange he would say anything like this to start with.....

Kiss the girls is the Morgan freeman film, it's on film 4 every week.

Great watch if you got a spare 10 hours. Couldn't stop watching and done it in two sittings of 5 hrs each. Can't wait for series 2, should be out about 2025
Started watching this at 7am this morning, 1 episode to go. One of the best documentaries I've watched.

Crack on with the next interesting series to watch called 'The Jinx' that has been mentioned earlier in this thread. Only 6 episodes in this one but well worth the watch!

Hacker group Anonymous is supposedly going to be helping by saying it'll release critical new documents soon.

I have to say the conviction is weak at best. It's pretty obvious that the Avery's were a set of wrong-un's and the police became obsessed with locking them away.

Whilst I'm in no doubt the Avery family were committing crimes at the time of TH death, it's a huge leap going from burglary to kidnap, rape and murder.

Does anyone know if the case can be referred to a federal level?

Aye it's shocking and just when you think it's all over, you've then got The Jinx to watch that I linked to earlier in this thread for more WTF moments! ;)

will do marra. Just finished the 4th episode of this, wow!
Thanks for recommending @CatRyan, totally agree at how wound up it gets you. Obviously I'm not even half way through yet, so I'm hoping those corrupt officers get nailed and avert is proven innocent....... I've just got that nagging feeling that there's going to be something tragic happen..

Just got to the end of episode 4 when they reveal the blood of A very on record that has been tampered with.

How the fuck does this go on? Why would the judge initially not let Dassey change his attorney? Why not let the blood vial be used as evidence? He's obviously in on it.

So f***ing angry at this. I can't stop watching it!

Brilliant recommendation @CatRyan

Just finished this and I've never angrily shouted at a screen as much before. Hope the reniewed exposure can lead to it being sorted.

Proper chuffed the slimy prosecution DA lawyer got his comeuppance like.

Absolutley unreal. Brilliant watch. How they can get away with this is unreal. I hope that anonymous do uncover something. There is still a murderer out there.

Robert Durst is one strange man. The envelope..... Surely he would've just shut up and got on with life but did the film.
I don't think he could help himself and it's as if he wanted to do it for things such as getting attention etc. He possibly did it just for the thrill as only he knows what happened but he obviously didn't plan on how it all panned out.

so I think he is the serial killer they are investigating who cut bodies up and disposed of the dismembered bodies in black bin liners in the ocean
The police have asked the relative areas to investigate cold cased where he was known to have visited under his many aliases
He is thought to have practiced on his several dogs all called Igor and the judge on the case he was a quitted for, when pressed would only comment that the dismemberment in that case was clearly the work of someone who had done it many times before

His arrogance and insanity is what interests me, he gets caught on the run for knicking plasters and sticking one under his nose and a chicken salad when he had tens of thousands of dollars in him.
Making collect calls to his family business while being in the area his wife went missing from at that time when he is the only person to ever do so
Calling his message service which places him in the area at the time of Susan B's murder

I'm not sure he was/is a serial killer. I don't think he got any pleasure out of killing people, rather, I think he saw killing people as an option when dealing with a situation. If someone got in his way he would kill them. I think he's probably a classic psychopath though, with no ability to empathise and no real understanding of human emotion and interaction.

Finished this tonight was gutted at the outcome. Had a feeling Steven would be found guilty but how the fuck Brendan got done has baffled me, especially after that juvenile team came in to help him at the end and proved what a joke it had been.

Just read through the thread in full there and glad to see The Jinx mentioned as well was going to recommend that I watched it just after it aired all 6 episodes off the trot

Have to say I had some doubts about Steven although the trial and police procedures were a fiasco. But it's poor Brendan that you feel sorry for. I couldn't even watch all of the episode which depicted his trial...it was just too much. I watch true crime documentaries all the time and nothing surprises me now about the so called fair American justice system.

Excellent series and very thought provoking indeed

Out of interest what other crimes did Steven committ?

The judge in sending him dowm talked about his crimes getting worse and worse as he got older
