Making a Murderer (Netflix)

There isn't the slightest bit of evidence against him and being weird doesn't make you a suspect.

One of the more annoying aspects of the way they made this documentary was the editing and music used when he was on screen. They deliberately try to paint him as a suspect without offering any evidence
Does like.

I thought it was fairly obvious that the documentary was trying to put forward a case of reasonable doubt as the defense team were.

Give this a watch

He is one of those blokes who could read the phone book, and still have you hooked.

@CatRyan

My brother is on at me to watch this, I'm a bit scared

it seems a bit harrowing

Creating reasonable doubt for Avery is fine. Editing your documentary to make an innocent party appear to be a suspect isn't.

My point is that they do it without saying it. Subconsciously planting the seed of suspicion in your mind, a bit like when that lass was murdered in her flat (the Dutch guy next door did it) and the press/media painted the landlord as a suspect because he looks like an oddball

For those interested Dateline NBC did a special on the avery case the other day including interviews with his new lawyer and apparently new details from both sides. Its downloadable from the usual sources.

This prog was quite interesting, they had a blood expert on who was able to explain the hole in the sample top and also explain why there would be blood under the cap of the vial. Still doesnt explain why the tape on the evidence box was torn.

His new Lawyer was interviewed briefly on the way into seeing Avery for the first time saying she has new evidence but didnt go into any details on what it was.

Spoiler. I think

I'm only up to episode 7 and haven't read a great deal of this thread but I know from seeing it on social media that he is found guilty.

So ive come to the conclusion that this documentary is obviously missing bits out and its very cleverly edited to make it look like he did it - because on the evidence I've seen no jury could find him guilty unless they're all bent as fuck.

Yeah. The evidence didn't prove beyond reasonable doubt but they found him guilty anyway, not the most unbiased jury when you see who some of them were related to mind

I would love to smack her brother in the face, media whore.

Still reckon it was her ex boyfriend.
So if it was her ex, how do you think that played out? So did she leave the avery property? Where was she killed? How did her car end up back on the property? How were her bones on the property? What was his motive etc....

It was Bobby Dassey and his marra who did it.

I stopped watching after ten minutes of episode 4. The kid's lawyer had an assistant and he was interviewing the kid and asking him to tell the truth. The truth being what they wanted him to say to get him off. I just got too angry with the whole thing. I don't get angry at stuff normally.

you dont have to have a theory to support a hunch. thats what i dont get about the prosecution, they seemed to insist that if the defendant was going to deny it, they were obliged to come up with an alternative theory and suspect. thats not how it works surely? if i get accused of something i didnt do, it doesnt then imply that i have to find out what actually happened to prove my innocence
