Making a Murderer (Netflix)

For as long as i have a hole in my arse theres no way either of them are guilty. The young lads verdict is beyond belief. Theres no proper evidence at all!

Avery didnt do it either. He wouldnt park her car with blood all over it in his yard when he could have burned and destroyed it. Ex boyfriend and brother done it and jim lenk and sheriff 'made' avery guilty. The personal links of the diposed cops to the 1st false crime on avery makes the whole case questionable irrelevant of evidence!! Hope i never have to rely on their justice system for owt

The timeline they came up with was mental.
  1. Tie her to bed
  2. Stab her leaving no blood
  3. Cut her throat leaving no blood
  4. Move her to garage leaving no blood
  5. Shoot her leaving no blood
  6. Put her bloody mutilated corpse in the car and finally leave a minuscule spec of blood
  7. Move car to other side of salvage yard instead of crushing it
  8. Take body out of car and burn in pit
  9. Move some of the bones from pit to a barrel for the hell of it
I honestly think if the defence lawyers put that timeline up some of those yokel jurors may have even realised its farcical. That's before you even get to the keys and bullets turning up on the 6th or 7th search.

He didn't even need to do that, iirc they have a car crusher on site

Have to love people questioning €300 a hour defence lawyers on a football message board on the back of a highly edited program

Sacrebleu!

I felt so sorry for her.

Avery's sweat was found in the car, which the documentary left out.

Surely that could be planted as well? They had access to his trailer for 8 days and I think it'd be fairly easy to transfer sweat from used clothes/bedding?
Apparently there is no such thing as sweat dna, just dna.

Just finished it last night, not sure if I missed it but is the lass even dead? Was there any tests on the bones that said yes this is the autotrader girl?
It was posted somewhere that you can't take DNA from bones you need some flesh and there wasn't any on the bones. however if this was the case how did they verify that kingy fella in Leicester??

Not sure they can drag it out for another ten hours like

If there was movement and a re-trial, aye. As it stands I think they'd be stretching it somewhat.

Reckon the makers have already made recordings of phone calls with Avery. It'll be a while yet before anything happens though, 18 year for some movement so might be longer this time. Bit sad that like, basically gonna be his whole life behind bars for nothing.

There was flesh on some of the bones in the burn pit by his trailer which made it extremely easy for them.

DNA extraction from charred bones is so much harder because the heat degrades the DNA so much, meaning amplification and downstream analysis is a lot harder.

Richard III was buried in a cold environment. So, whilst damp, it'd still be possible to extract reasonably intact DNA.

This paper demonstrated increasing levels of DNA degradation as the level of fire damage increased:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20832378

But it needs to be an intense flame and kept fed for about 12 hours

Fed by things like tyres? Which Avery had an abundance of? There was evidence of tyres in the burn pit and the fire barrel.

Not questioning the defence lawyers at all. They couldn't have done much more. Have you watched the show?
The lawsuit he'd have won would have been able to pay for that fairly comfortably id say had manitowoc state not convicted him of something he didnt do (again). Im surprised so many people have been able to sleep easy at night choosing dodgy cops over 2 enprisoned innocent men... id have expectes the odd suicide or confession by now... maybe when lenk and co pop their clogs the bastards will speak out

A weird and fucked up case like. Will read this thread properly tomorrow then put the world to rights.
