Making a Murderer (Netflix)

Watched the 10 episodes over 2 days thanks to this thread. Gripping stuff after a slow start.

Probably already been said but
The Brother and the ex-boyfriend both seemed odd, something not suite right there

Also watched the final 4 episodes of The Jinx last night
Unbelievable ending, will have to do some more reading on this later.

Any other good documentaries like this people can recommend?

Just finished with Dear Zachary, after watching The Jinx and Making a Murderer.

All recommended on here and great watches. All tragic in their own ways.

Each one quite different, but none of them showing the North American justice systems in a great light.

Any more similar recommendations welcome!

Just watched this, cheers for recommending (I think).

Anyone recommend any other good docs. Seen the jinx already

On episode 4, its hard to watch, the lack of support the 16 year old lad is getting is just absolutely shocking.

Actually get angry watching it

It's heartbreaking
When you hear the phone calls between the family you realise they are barely able to speak English, they are hardly literate and definitely not great thinkers; easy to bully and manipulate.

The ending of Ep 4 is my favourite bit, enjoy ;)

Anyone think the ex boyfriend was a bit strange. He admitted hacking into her account. The brother seemed very composed too through all this and said something odd about her being dead before she was found.
Every clip of him he seemed to have a smirk on his face, might be his natural expression but surely not when you're looking for your missing sister

 Just finished it

Ridiculous

I would also recommend The Staircase

Same type

The issue I have with what I have read is that I do not know how trustworthy the sites are and also what to believe and not to believe as "evidence" as if the authorities are corrupt, how far are they willing to go for a conviction?
That's the thirty million dollar question

Watched up to end of ep5 last night. The biggest fook up the cops made was acting like kids at at Christmas from the moment this woman disappeared and knowing she'd visited the Avery salvage yard. Wether or not they tampered with, planted or altered evidence, or even if Steven Avery was as guilty as they would like, they totally jumped the gun and got tunnel vision on trying to make the case fit the one they wanted to be guilty. They ignored too many exterior possibilities.

Was great to see that Coltard/Coultard cop guy squirm and the colour actually drain from him at the end of ep5 when he was quizzed on the call about the license plates, the realisation that he'd screwed up big style and his credibility flew out of the window, priceless!!

Couldn't keep his hands still, mouth died up, eyes on stalks......shit himself

just finished watching it as well. Unbelievable really.
Brendan is convicted of stabbing/raping/mutilation and no evidence of dna anywhere to be found - oh and no blood in the room either
god bless America eh

There were so many fuck-ups that were glossed over that you can't help but wonder what went on with the jury in deliberations.

The whole thing is insane and highlights just how bat-shit crazy some states in America are.

I think the jury has a lot to answer for as well- they all Knew of both cases well before they went to trial- Im guessing this was typical mid town usa film scenario where the Avery's were loners and the town was well do good old US of A citizens who saw the Avery place as a stain on the community to a certain extent.
I was surprised they actually kept their land at the end as I was expecting them to lose it all and a housing estate to be built on it
