There's just nothing at all there - tactics, substitutions, formation, signings and most importantly results:

P27 W5 D8 L14 F26 A45 GD-19 PTS23 PPG 0.85

Key losses to rivals Bolton, Birmingham, Barnsley and now to seal the deal, Burton.

The day Sunderland were relegated:

Every club in that bottom 6 in November managed to pick up more points in the 5 months he has been here.
That fact is the most telling to me - these are the standard of teams we will come up against every week in league one. What makes people think he can suddenly start getting results against them? If he stays, we'll keep struggling.

A full transfer window with a new owner and him bringing in players he wants rather than what is available for free might help.

There are still lots of players there that don't want to be, this could be the summer we finally get shot of them all and change the whole ethos of the club .

People are putting far too much faith in this "new owner". Unless any new owner is mega rich, we won't have any money to spend in the summer regardless.

Face it, whoever is in charge in the summer is going to have to put a team together with little or no money, however that shouldn't stop us challenging for promotion. Coleman's transfers so far have not shown he can manage in that type of market.

You don't need much money though in that league. The average wage is 1.5k a week and players move primarily on frees. We'll be able to offer 2 or 3 times the average wage without doing any damage financially and cherry pick the better players .

Blackburn have just done it

You don't need much money to survive in this league man. He had 30 games at least make us only the 4th worst team in the division and he couldn't do that. He wants sacking. This is his failure.

 Chris wouldn't.
Correct.

Yes I know. What I'm saying is I don't have any faith in Coleman to be able to do it.

I just dont think we'll be able to get anyone who's any better and there was an improvement from when Grayson was there, albeit a slight one.

Just for once we should give a manager a bit of time and see if he can get us out of this shit.

I like the stance he's taken in regards to players who don't want to be here and i really do think he has the balls to follow it through unlike other managers we've had.

That suggests you think there is something good about him. He has us rock bottom, 4 points behind Burton. He literally could not do worse.

He's had 5 months and relegated us. He's had enough time to prove he isn't up to it.

Like what? Letting Grabban go and selling Vaughan? That worked out, didn't it?

I'm sick of the club having players that are either here for one last pay deal or we're the best option available to them at that time.

Is it too much to want to have a squad of players that want't to be here and think it's a privilege to be playing for Sunderland.

I genuinely think Coleman wants that and that is what he'll start to bring in given the chance.

If we field a team next season of young players preferably from the youth set up and a few of the better league one players that can't believe they're playing for Sunderland and bust a gut every week then i'll be happy.

I think there is already enough quality coming through in the likes of Love, Honeyman, Gooch, Maja, Robson and if we can keep hold of McNair there is a very good base of players to start building from.

I don't believe Coleman wanted to bring in some of the players he did, i think it was more a case of these were all he could get hold of with his hands tied.

This is an excellent chance we have now to finally clearly the dead wood and start again.

Yes it would have been nicer to have been in the Championship to do this, but we're not, so we need to make the most of it.

In an ideal world hopefully this time next season we've just clinched promotion, have a young team and a wage bill under £15m. If we can achieve that, then yes i think it's all been worth it.

Unless we have a team full of Sunderland fans, the majority of our players will be off if a better offer comes around. You are living in fantasy land if you think players will want to play for Sunderland above all other teams. For all of our players we are simply "the best option available to them at that time" whether we're buying a player for millions in the premier league, or signing a player for free in league one.

Players like Honeyman, Robson, Gooch want to be here, they want to play for the club you can see that when they play.

If we were to sign players from pretty much any division 1 club it would be potentially the biggest move a lot of those players would ever get the chance of. Signing anyone like that and you'd see them give 100%, whether it's to use us as a stepping stone or not, i don't mind that as long as they're committed.

we've signed far too many foreign players in the past that just wanted a route into English football for the wages and weren't bothered once they had achieved that.

This is an excellent opportunity to start building something again, i genuinely believe we've hit rock bottom and things will start to improve.
