Know where you're coming from. But ultimately regardless of the division fans want to see their team win. You don't leave the match if you've won three nil thinking "shite that, it was only a pub team that we beat".

Put it another way, I'd take the season we lost to Charlton in the play offs every year over the 19 point relegation from the top flight.

But yes, ultimately you want your club to be the best it can be. But if that takes a few seasons away from 'the best league in the world' I can cope.

Heard a couple of blokes in the Halfway house yesterday discussing this place, one said “who’s dangermows, is he from Stanley ?” Other bloke said “He drinks in the tavern

see the campaign has been dubbed "another miracle season"

do they really look at Cardiff Huddersfield and Fulham and think ..

Rafa has worked a miracle here staving off relegation??

But fulham spent 100m

Little do they realise Fulham had a championship side and they spent 40m on a side that finished tenth.

What makes the net spend argument so laughable

Can’t wait for the meltdown when Rafa the politician fucks off. If it’s not this summer, it’ll be shortly after when he realises Ashley isn’t going to agree to his demands.

Pretty sure they've finished lower this season then they did last year despite breaking their transfer record!
Got more points though.

Why would he leave ?

Massively paid, if they do badly it's due to Ashley if they do well it's all down to Rafa, he really cant lose.

Genuine question, where would he go? Family settled in Cheshire, will he get a different Premier League job?.

If he goes (which I think he will), it'll be because the owner has zero ambition beyond Premier League survival, zero interest in improving the training facilities and Youth system, and refuses to give enough control over transfers to Benitez. Control which would allow him to buy players like Rondon on a permanent basis.

He could get another Premier League job, but like you say, his family are settled in Cheshire. And the clubs round there are happy with their man and/or wouldn't be interested in Benitez. Maybe Watford or Wolves should their managers move on? The latter is closer than Newcastle. Can't imagine Wolves wanting to replace Espirito Santos unless someone poaches him from them.

He's never managed in France and I would imagine PSG of Marsaille would interest him. He'll never manage one of the big six in the Prem again.

So did the rest of the league

Not all of them did. Some won fewer points than they did last season.

Dunno if he'd be wanted by PSG, but yeah Marseille might interest him and be interested in him.

You're right about the top 6.
