Rightly so. The bloke broke the rules. He should be punished as others have been. Another thick footballer!
The PL are checking whether he’s betted over here too
Now that would be hilarious tbh. Proper embarrassment for them all.The PL are checking whether he’s betted over here too
Innocent until proven guilty from the Newcastle side of things, but if he is found guilty the fans will look mental giving him a lap of honour.Rightly so. The bloke broke the rules. He should be punished as others have been. Another thick footballer!

Eek. HarshWhat other industry would pay £52 million without checking that they could use the asset they had just bought?
Whoever sanctioned that transfer should be, sanctioned.
They were going to play him last weekend until Eddie let slip that he could play as FIFA hadn't ratified the ban, cue FIFA pushing the ban through late Friday night.Newcastle so concerned about his welfare that they were still prepared to play him up until last weekend rather than get him in rehab.
Will Brentford fans vilify Tony or support him?Innocent until proven guilty from the Newcastle side of things, but if he is found guilty the fans will look mental giving him a lap of honour.
Why wouldn't they play a player who, at the time of the comment, wasn't banned? They were going to play him last weekend until Eddie let slip that he could play as FIFA hadn't ratified the ban, cue FIFA pushing the ban through late Friday night.
Ha! You are suggesting there be a coherent plan between football authorities. I assume the comment was sarcasm?Maybe what would have been better was for both to do an investigation and the punishment be combined?

He broke the rules. Punish him as has happened to others.
He isn't the first and, because there are a lot of thick players, won't be the last.

What next, transparency and honesty?
It was bad enough playing him after he admitted it to the Italian authorities. Will Brentford fans vilify Tony or support him?

Aye but, but, but....It was bad enough playing him after he admitted it to the Italian authorities.
As people say, innocent until proven guilty, but once an admission of guilt was given then the club should have suspended him with immediate effect pending an internal investigation, as chances are an addict would still be tempted to gamble.
What happens if the premier league / FA investigation finds that he was still gambling on games he was involved in, including those after his admission of guilt?
And as for Ivan Toney, I’ll just leave this here to show the hypocrisy of Newcastle fans.

*doesn't understand karmaGiven how many times we were dipped in the arse in the transfer market ...karma is a bitch
Dislike howey but he was going for it, saying it must have been common knowledge in squad etc.Steve Howey was on radio Newcastle last night saying that when the mags bought him for 50 odd million he thought he was far too cheap given his age n what he’d achieved in the game so far.
Obviously Milan getting shot of him.
