So its Forests fault :) Sorry mate, you are in the second tier of football, its unthinkable what a second rate ref is like after seeing some of the top refs we have seen. Thats what playing in the lower divisions leaves you open to :) :) :)
What? No it's not Forests fault. I didn't say that, in fact I said it's the FA's fault. I haven't seen enough of their games to know if all the reds were justified, but if I were the FA I'd have looked at them all, seen the game was a "big one" for that league, seen that it was on tv and thought, "you know what, I won't pick the lad who previously reffed the game between Chester and North Ferriby".

I have to say, the difference in the standard of officiating is more stark than the difference in the standard of the play.

Lansbury was a tosser, just like Fabregas last weekend.
Shelvey was a bigger tosser though and fully deserved his red card.

If Shelvey deserves a red for flailing his leg, Lansbury deserves one for deliberately kicking Shelvey.

Shelvey is a dick for reacting, but Lansbury and his ilk need setting on fire.

You are in the second division, you get shitter refs than the big lads (if that is possible)

I've watched that again and Shelvey still kicks at the head of Lansbury with his left leg. There's no way that one will be overturned. The other one is really soft but you can see the FA backing the referee as Dummett still has his hands on the back of the player.

Correct

I think that has only ever happened to us, is that correct?

But it could still be classed as frivolous

Think boro had an extra game added for appealing when Alidiere got sent off at Liverpool for an air slap?

I thought that at first but he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity so laws say it's a red. Shelvey could get his extended for a frivolous appeal imo, regardless of whether the forest lad made the most of it shelvey still kicked him.

Wasn't the rule changed in the summer? If a goal scoring opportunity is denied in the box then the punishment is now supposed to be just a penalty but outside the box still a red. I think.

Give over. He puts his hands on him with no intention to play the ball. Dermot Gallagher on sky yesterday saying the ref got it right.

I thought they changed the rule though? So its just a yellow if its stopping a goal scoring 1 on 1

Hence why Smith at Bournemouth wasn't sent off
