Macros for building muscle

Even though I have a split on MFP, the protein one is the only one I really pay attention to. Is there a way of working out my fat requirements? Bearing in mind I’m aiming to shed fat rather than build muscle.

It's very unlikely that you'll be at a level of fat that would be concerning tbh mate, most people aren't under that threshold (at least not chronically) unless they've been convinced to actively avoid fat. Just make sure you're getting the right balance of EFAs and you'll be fine.

I would encourage you to stick to some relatively consistent macros though, as its easier to be consistent with assessing progress. If you just track protein and overall kcal, you'll still lose or gain muscle depending on the surplus, but you just introduce too much fluctuation in scale weight, water retention and feelings of perceived energy etc.
