😂😂😂😂

Want to go and listen to his interview and not some shitty quotes in the echo kid.

Back to bed you go little kid. Night night
Well this has descended into nonsense. Thought we were discussing whether or not we started with 3 at back yesterday.
Good night to you too. Sleep well.

This is a good piece on Ipswich under McKenna, as it's a similar set up to what we saw on Tuesday. It makes it very clear on what we should have been doing when looking to play out from the back.

When Winchester received the ball, he should have had Gooch as a nearby option along with Evans. Where were these options? When Doyle had the ball, he should have had Cirkin and Neil as nearby options. Same question. These players should be forming triangles and diamonds together to aid with our ball progression. When Batth, the least comfortable in possession has the ball, he had the option of either wide centre back (or whatever you want to call Winchester), the two central midfielders, Pritchard or more direct to Stewart. If this happened, we had to ensure we had players close enough to Stewart to link up or win the second ball.

I mean, these are basics, but at the moment there's just no unison or real plan.

Was ripping my hair out at us killing time for them knocking it around the back 4. We’ve done it since we fell to this level.

Right. So you know better than our manager? Okay I get it now.
Winchester spoke about finding out he was playing centre back during the week so he clearly thinks he’s was in a back three. What did Dodds say?
You're interesting, but I want to prove my point.

I was at Bolton and can tell you we played with a back four. Dodds referenced it in post match interview. Also, you can't have paid much attention if you didn't notice where Winnie started. Bit pissed?

Dodds opted to play with a back three, with the versatile Carl Winchester operating on the right-hand side of that defensive line.

"I don't want to dwell too much on the past but we felt that at Bolton we were a little bit too open and exposed," he explained.

"We felt that the personnel would allow us to get a little bit more security in the back line, and what Winnie [Winchester] would give us is a shape-change without making a sub and you could see that in the second half when we went to a back four.

Apology accepted, wind your neck in.
Spot on. Was clear as day.

Especially on that pitch. Appalling.

Doyles a good footballer but just appeared gormless/clueless.

Neil was there. Just kept giving it away. Evans was nowhere to be seen. Left it to Neil to get the groans with misplaced passes, and then left it to Matete.

Just reading the article in The Athletic also saying that Winchester played as right centre back.

There's been a couple of desperate posters this weekend, determined to tell everyone how right they are and wrong everyone else is. I hope it's not the same tomorrow as it ruins the thread.

And the Doncaster manager quoted as saying he wasn't expecting us to play three at the back with Winchester.

Whatever system we play, Evans is the one for me that never looks comfortable playing it out from the back, which as the deepest midfielder puts us in quite the problem. His return has coincided with our downturn in attacking form too, for the most part. That’s not to say he isn’t a good player or should be dropped, but we need to work out ways of playing around him or changing the system to suit, as it clearly isn’t working

That's why Matete has been brought in, the person responsible for picking the team however may not have worked it out yet although he was given a clue in the last half hour on Saturday.
