4231 all game really. With Embleton playing stupidly narrow both halves. Only change at half time was to swap Embleton and Gooch.
Without reading all the thread, I thought it was 4231 all day. What I couldn’t understand was Dan Neil playing behind Evans. Neil should have been the one as the playmaker with Evans protecting the defence. 3 attacking midfielders looked lost, Gooch frustrating as usual, but you can’t knock his effort, Embleton hardly sin the game, but when he was he looked dangerous and Prichard, who is our best midfielder chasing all over the pitch trying to get the ball.
I much prefer 3-5-2 but unfortunately for some reason we let Flanagan go so we should have went the simple 4-4-2 and get up the wings and get them crosses in.
I thought both our centre half’s were poor today and left back was a man off. Midfield all over the place and our centre forward must have been frustrated as fuck with the service.
Hopefully the new manager comes in, with some decent coaches and gets a grip of this team.
Individually I still think these players should be able to compete with any of their opposition but they need some tweaking formation wise.
Away Keano get it sorted

I enjoy reading your reports mate but disagree a lot with your rating of Doyle and cirkin who I thought were both a shambles today. Cirkin just looks shit. And thought Pritchard was terrible as well. Tbf they all were.
Cirkin put a shift in trying to make things happen. Which is more than can be said of most of the team

I dont doubt his effort, but looks weak, one paced and very ordinary. That said no support defensively from midfield. But, still, disappointed with him at the moment.

For me

Hoffman 5 - distribution is shite, I think I've seen him make less than 5 saves since he's got here.

Winchester 5 - out of position and ineffective

Batth 4 - rubbish

Doyle 4 - horrendous

Cirkin 4 - dreadful, ambled up and down the pitch, delivery was mostly poor, really hope he's not fit

Gooch 6 - one of the only players who seemed to try, takes too many touches out wide, but got back to stop two dangerous attacks and put in some decent delivery. Played about 12 positions over the course of the game

Evans 5 - poor in the main, but followed in for his goal well.

Neil 5 - dreadful but forced a good save from the keeper, think we play him too deep.

Pritchard 6 - clearly our best player, good feet, occasionally showed for the ball

Embleton 5 - not sure he played, no idea what position he was, but he was very ineffective

Stewart 5 - no service, but his movement was garbage by his high standards

Ref was one of the worst I've seen. Missed a clear goal, arguably could have had one or two penalties (would need to see them back). Got the piss taken out of him by the bottom placed team in the league.

Hopefully we never see the bunch of coaches we had in the dugout in the dugout ever again.

Usual top notch analysis AC of a match which 2 times in a row has thoroughly ruined a Sydney Sunday morning and a Saturday night for thousands more. Suggest you toss your hat in for the manager/coach position.

Good analysis mate, can't contradict because I was out of me head on painkillers, but even in a drug induced stupor I was thinking did we actually bring in 5 players and not play any of them,,,,that's proper incompetence 🙄

The game on the pitch. Winchester was a right cente back who occasionally drifted out to right back. The clue is in watching Winchester.

Second half he played right back before being taken off.
The truth of it is this whole argument about where Winchester was playing is a silly one. Whatever he was supposed to be doing, he looked confused and didn't understand it. In the end he didn't look like he was playing right back, or part of a back three. It was some kind of Frankenstein position and he was all over the shop.

Those rating are generous. Nobody deserved more than a 3.

In hindsight, maybe my slightly more sympathetic view of yesterday was a bit misplaced.

I knew the reaction on here would be negative, and rightly so after losing to bottom of the league, but there is a lot of anger across the board as a whole which can only really mean one thing.

There's some unsavoury language on here attacking AC Mack's mildrew and it is uncomfortable to read. Haway lads, let's not turn on our own eh!

It's hardly surprising there are so many conflicting opinions on what the formation was, given that it seemed to confuse the players just as much.

Coming out of the ground yesterday and listening to the frustration of those walking back into the centre, I said to my dad that I'm going to get some stick for my report tonight. That is if anyone bothers to reply
