I nearly always agree. But this time I think you missed the main point.

They are bottom of the table. They got hammered by Rotherham. I watched that game and they were clueless.

Yet we came out and were half arsed and half paced, basically begging them to take the initiative.

Your three points are about “shape” or tactics if you like. We lost cos of attitude, right from the kickoff.

First half it was most definitely a back three

Looked a lop sided back 4 again to me (I sit in line with where a RB would play in north stand). We didn't play with a left winger though and Embleton/Pritchard kept rotating out to the left. Meant Cirkin had to cover the left side on his own and defence shifted to cover.

Second half Gooch was shifted to left wing and Embleton right to fill up that hole.

The Echo said pre match Winchester might play CB but quickly tweeted first half to say it was a back 4 with him at right back.

4231 all game really. With Embleton playing stupidly narrow both halves. Only change at half time was to swap Embleton and Gooch.

Didn’t see it myself must say but everyone has their opinions.

For me it was clear as day it was 3 at the back first half and switched to flat back four second half.

I’d absolutely love to know what game you watch to think we played 3 at the back today mind. Are you sure you weren’t watching Southampton or Lincoln or someone?

The game on the pitch. Winchester was a right cente back who occasionally drifted out to right back. The clue is in watching Winchester.

Second half he played right back before being taken off.

I thought it looked a clear change of shape in the second half. Know what you mean about lopsided back four but I suspect that was due to Winchester not really getting his positioning right. To my eyes Batth was taking very central positions up first half whereas he was clearly right sided centre half in the second. It was a shambles either way, mind:lol:

I said nowt of the sort ;)

Harsh on doncaster.

When they attacked they looked capable of scoring then just shut up shop and we literally didnt have anything to break them down other than a 15 minute spell in 2nd half.

Overall we just looked like 11 players put out on a pitch with no actual plan and hope we produce something.

All to do with formation imo. Them players are in the main good enough but today was similar to so many games this season where the person responsible for setting us up just hadnt a clue. Has mick dodds watch any of our games this season?

Agree with us looking like strangers with no plan, and also that Doncaster looked threatening on the few occasions they did break.

However, they were still fortunate to come away with three points.

That was a back 3? If it was then it was the most bodged back 3 I have ever seen and lop sided to boot. I couldn't work it out at all, all I could see is that Cirkin was literally the only player playing on the left side for us for a full half. Horrendous from the coaching staff.

I don't think anyone deserved higher than 5 from the first team, as I have said on another thread Clarke was probably my man of the match for his cameo... Looks decent.

We're impossibly slow in the build up. Even on the counter we can't break quickly at other teams, we always seem to have to turn back. Donny broke really effectively and they could actually have easily got another 3 goals. I think you're actually being a bit harsh on them marra.
I also still think we should never have let Flanagan and Younger both leave. Our defensive options at CB are frightening and I was a worried man when Batth went down hurt in the second half.

So you didn't knotice how our back line looked like rabbits in headlights every time the broke forward?
