M1 or A1 to Wembley?

Stopping at Wembley Travelodge on the Saturday but undecided which way to drive down.

Is it easier to Go A1(M), M18, then M1, or just stay on the A1(M)? Both seem to end converge in pretty much ch exactly the same place.A1 is slightly longer at an extra 4 miles, any ideas?

Last time I did M1 it was boring. At least there's the odd roundabout on the A1. That said last time I did A1 got stuck in traffic near Leicester turn off.

Go A1, M1 nearly always has accidents, traffic jams and roadworks.

Neither is particularly scenic. I hate driving to London.

M18 way is shorter. But if you get traffic at the 4 lane to 2 lane part you’ll lose all that extra time anyway

They must be near London then, none from Newcastle to Stansted IIRC.

I remember years gone by there were loads on it, it's practically all motorway now.

a1 on the way down and m1 on the way back. i'm almost sure the a1 near alconbury has weekend road closures.
we're stopping at southgate premier inn but going round to the ace cafe on the sunday morning for breakfast which is just down from wembley travelodge and walking to the match from there.

They’ve all gone apart from a couple south of the A14. Can’t remember how many I usually get off there for SE London.
