Well it's good to see Jennings getting a few runs under his belt. Let's hope he maintains his concentration tomorrow and gets his 50 quickly, then builds a big innings. He certainly could do with one. I should think a lead of 350 will be good enough, as long as we don't throw the wickets away - meaning there's plenty in the wicket for our bowlers too. Hey ho! I'm looking forward to the next couple of days - weather permitting .....

Brilliant start. For once i'd like to see us be a little more fluid with the batting lineup. I know 5 sessions are left but It'd be better for us to get runs quickly and as such, imho we should be looking to get the cleaner/bigger hitters up the order IE Stokes/Mustard/Hastings.

301 lead :p

169-1 Jennings 66*, Borthwick 59*. Reckon now is the time to clash on. Should be able to score another 200 or so by Tea IMO, leaving us a lead over 500 and 4 sessions to bowl them out.

Don't think we need 500. I would look to set them about 425 and hope to put them in for a tricky little 15 mins or so before tea.

Me neither, but you never know what Colly will feel truly comfortable with on what's looking like a flattening deck.

If we make it impossible for them to win our bowlers can attack more.

Could really come down to us having enough time to take 10 wickets. I'd think 130 overs should be plenty but we'll see.

199-1 would suggest the pitch is getting easier to bat on but we are not scoring quickly so is it really that docile?

Seem to have upped the rate the last half hour or so. Think their bowlers will be totally demoralised too though. Plus they'll all know that they already are probably out of the game.

206-1 - we've beaten their score for the loss of 1 wicket .

To be fair I think we could easily get a lead of 500 before Tea.

I think after lunch. Once/if these two get to 100 we should just start hoying the bat. Their already demoralised side will be even further ground into the dirt if we make them chase leather for an hour or so in the mid-afternoon sunshine :-O

Tend to agree with you Brandon. Bat sensibly and hopefully these two both get their tons and then just go for it and if we lose wickets so what. Just score quickly and get them in before tea for a tricky little session.
