This is ludicrous, every time I check another wicket has gone down. I've resorted to just sitting watching this thread now, how am I supposed to get any work done in the office!!

What is there a record number of wickets taken on one day by one bowler?

The current Durham record for most wickets in a match belongs to Alan Walker, who took 14-177 against Essex in 1995. Rushworth has 13-72...

Overall record, not for the day though

Just been told it's a new record, seventeen wickets for 75, previous record was seventeen for 178. And nearly another wicket for him ....

Que? He's beaten Walker's record assuming he doesn't get carted by the tail, see above

Thanks for the reply, but as Rushy has 14 in one day, that was the question I was looking for, ratehr than the match figures.

Google seems very quiet on this. There's only 5 left that any player could possibly have got!

Definitely a season of what might have been in 4 day cricket this year. Yorkshire the best side this year but were not far off being next best

58-7, 15 for Rushworth. Fuck me.

14 wickets in the session.

Surreal stuff.

Had Durham not come within a whisker of securing maximum batting points, every pitch inspector in the country would be on their way to Durham now with a pen and a pitchfork. Fortunately, Durham did score freely and posted a big score, which suggests that the pitch is fine and Northants are just unspeakably poor.
