Seen some hairy stuff following both sunderland and Cambridge, more following Cambridge, glad it’s changed for the better
Yer. Could not carry on but the atmosphere has gone as well, I find football a bit sterile these days, I guess the tribal element has gone. Remember a few Luton games at Cambridge in the 80s, always a good day out.

silly game to get knicked for these days.

New ground would get 15-20 k easily in my opinion. I might even go again. I'm to old to care 52 but I hope it happens, this town needs a lift.
True. Ive only been there for the match, airport, jazz club n a few birthday parties.

Applause, sir!

I get sick and tired of southern based media companies making documentaries that clearly have an agenda.
They compare well-off southerners living in attractive streets with underclass northerners living in the absolute worst areas they can find.

I also get sick and tired of people taking a pop at Sunderland, worse still people from the city!
I’ve been to many towns and cities over the years and my honest opinion of Sunderland is that while it needs more attractions and some considerable improvement in the city centre, it is a bloody good city to live in and is nowhere near being the dump it’s often portrayed to be.

It’s trendy to knock Sunderland, and the Magedia doesn’t help, but it’s a decent place overall.

There’s more than enough shitty areas down south, yet they’re painted as ‘up and coming’ despite being ugly dives, just because they’re in or near the capital. You’d be hard pressed to find a real slum in Sunderland, I can’t think of any. Nor can I think of anywhere I wouldn’t walk through.

There’s virtually no gun crime in Sunderland, no armed robberies, random stabbings, gang culture and so on.
It’s within a few minutes drive of Gateshead, Newcastle, and Durham, which I maintain is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. 40 minutes or so gets you into Weardale and Teesdale or North Yorkshire for some spectacular scenery south easterners could only dream of. We have a sea front and beaches which is a huge bonus.

There’s some great views in Sunderland as well, with it being built on hills. Looking across the city from Tunstall Hills always gives me a buzz.

I’m so glad I was born in Sunderland.

Fully agree, it's a very nice city. The North East's a great place to live.

I would rather live in the NE than London or the SE.
The Coastline around Alnwick, Craster etc simply unspoilt and the best of all very little people.
Country boy me and live on the borders of the Cotswolds.
I drive to the noise when I want to but lucky to live in a quiet rural village.
You won’t get me knocking the NE.
