The club cannot win though can they with some of our fans, we have went down the route of spunking money on supposed proven English players, has not really worked has it, when the Mags did what we are now doing most of our fans were saying this is the route we should take, we do it and people still complain![]()
I am certain that people just want to sign people they've heard of for big money just so they can say to their mag mates "look who we've signed". Honestly man, look at how much money we've wasted signing players from the Premier League and Championship.

Orban's agent: I hope that at that point Lucas will be ready to reciprocate the attention received so far from so-called "Black Cats".

Orban's agent: He is first choice, but they turn the names of possible alternatives and, asap, the English club will rightly make a choice.

At the minute, and its very early days, there is little comparison other than that we are going foreign.
If you look at the players the mags scouted, in the main, they were sought after players who had success in the French or German leagues and they got them on the cheap.
We are picking out freebies and never beens. Sure, Di Fanti may be a genius and I hope he is but with bottom of the barrel foreigners, it looks like we've gone from Bruce's Harrods to Di Canios Lidl.

Was that because in the one game you have seen him play he played at CB?
aye that's why they have been tracked by inter, napoli, valenica and marseille
I'd agree with a lot of that but you can't entirely blame people for worrying a bit about how unproven these players are. Personally I'm with you, I think there's much better value to be had with the direction we're going in this summer, let's hope we find it.
We're looking to buy a pretty much new team, 12 according to Di Canio not everyone of them can be expensive and i'm pretty sure we'll not have a team of freebies. At the minute, and its very early days, there is little comparison other than that we are going foreign.

and every season the fans want rid of half the team...I keep posting the same thing how have we bought 60 players since Drumaville signed up and still not built an average squad..
I thought we were getting there at one point. It was during Bruce's reign, and we were attracting some pretty good players, or at least big names. The likes of Gyan, Welbeck, Muntari, Mensah, Bent, Cana, Sessegnon.
Yet somehow, and for whatever reason, we regressed to our current situation. Let's hope this fresh approach proves fruitful.
