He is tall, upright and had the game in front of him, like a CB. Very different from the attacking, overlapping full backs that you need in the prem. As I said, in the game I saw he looked like a CB.

Sounds like you were watching the wrong player. He either plays as a left back, that bombs forward, or on the left of a back 3 but which is still not a traditional centre-back as he still gets forward often.

no evidence of him getting forward from the tube footage posted on ere. crunching tackles galore like, which i like. class reader n positioning.

Definitely gets forward a lot, seems to be very good at judging when to go and when to stay though.

Playing now if anyone wants to check him out.

He's the left back (#22) for Tigre (in the blue and yellow).

Blue and red isn't it? Fantastic link even working on iPad.

Some people on here need to find reality. After the season he had we were never going to sign Rose. Fantastic player too good for us. Would love us to sign him. Some people are clutching at straws with this one. Much like Welbeck and Evans.

Bit worried that it takes time for South American based players to settle and get used to European football especially the Premiership. Anyone think of players that settled. On the subject I bet Riveros and Da Silva would have adapted if given time and were eased into our game rather than dropped in randomly.

That's them. Might want to save the link, it's an official Argie government link that shows live football most days.

I think this lad will really suit the Premier League, he has pace and loves to get stuck in. Great engine on him and he's only 24.

Watched his last 2 games. Unfortunately he was playing on the left of a back 3 in both but saw enough to think he would be ok. Very good in the tackle and very commited in his all round play. Seems to be comfortable on the ball and happy to pass off either foot. Even from this left centre back role he ran beyond his winger a few times and put a decnt cross in tonights game. Hard to compare him to anyone. Maybe a vertonghen type player when he played fb for spurs (not comparing ability only style). Decent in the air too although in the 1st game made a bit of an error under a high ball that cost a goal.

As I say would like to see him in a genuine fb role but would be happy enough at this signing.

Easy comparison, considering their positions and nationality, but reminds me of Gabriel Heinze.

Am guessing you've watched both games due to your als scouting role but his commitment reminds me of cana. Think fans would take to him quite a lot if he got off to a decent start. The kind of player safc fans like.

Great use of government money. ;)

Still can't think of players from SA that settle and adapt quickly.

Can definitely see him being a crowd pleaser, gets stuck in like Bardsley but seems an infinitely better footballer. Something tells me the women will take to him a bit too.

Julio Arca settled quickly enough. Tevez kept West Ham up in his first season.

I wonder how many South American imports came at the right age though, most seem to be like Angeleri, Da-Silva and Riveros and coming over too late or they come over when they are very young.

Seems to enjoy the physicality. The league seems quite poor to be honest. As i said would have liked to see him with the ball higher up the pitch as the defensive side of his game looks solid. Any idea of the chance of us signing him?

All signs point to yes signing him.
