Lou's Fine Ales and Beers

If the prices aren't cheaper than B&M's then they'll not be getting my trade. They got a website?

if we all took that attitude we would all be walking about in primark clays drinking fosters .

just try a few of the craft stuff and youll be surprised, its not about being a beer snob or out like that, just i find most of the stuff i try is miles better than high volume commercialised stuff. I wouldn't drink it otherwise

aye thats it

I tell you what, give me a selection of recommendations and where to buy and I'll give them a go this weekend and see if they're much different and worth the coin more than the more mass produced ales.

If he doesnt have his own micro brewery on site then the stuff wont be worth drinking.

All the super markets get loads decent stuff in now.

Not really. I like stouts and porters. Asda sell their own Porter and Shepherd Neame Stout, that’s it, unless you count the Guinness stuff. A couple of decent darker ones like Riggwelter but not that much selection. Morrisons is worse, Sainsburys is even poorer than Morrisons. Tesco sell a couple but the point is none of them ever rotate their stuff much. It’s the same stuff week after week after week.

Hence why I like trips to Rehills or Glug in Newcastle. It’s not something I would do very week but I do enjoy trying a few different ones. Some I wouldn’t bother with again but some have been fantastic. It’s not like I drink em all in one sitting either. The good stuff is pricey but I don’t mind spending say £20-£30 every month or two on a few random bottles or cans as I just drink them one or two at a time, usually after hoying cheaper stuff down me neck first or as a last one before bed if I’ve been out.

Best of luck to the lad, a Sunderland version of Rehills would be fantastic. Fingers crossed for some obscure gins anarl.

£99 plus delivery for a tray

£4.29 for an Imperial Stout? Put me down for a bottle.

All the other beer on sale is poor as it isn't a stout or a porter?

What's so good about it like?

Don't think I've ever had 'imperial stout'

I've had mackesons.

Nee idea if it’s good or not but I’d give it a go for £4.29 a bottle. Less than you pay for a pint in most decent places in Newcastle (and a few in the town).

Imperial stouts are like Guinness on steroids, thicker darker flavoured and much stronger. Not a session beer obviously but nice to finish the night off with summat like that. To me anyway.

goto Rehills and try a selection of Kernel,Beavertown,Wylam,Wildbeer,Vocation infact mate the list is endless. Aye youll spend a few quid but youll get some cracking beers, some youd never heard of.

99% of beer and ales are shite. Slowly going off beer. Normally drink a bottle of wine and then beer if at home after but now always wish I'd bought more wine instead. There's loads of these beers that smaller brewers are making that are absolutely disgusting but nobody seems to want to say that.
