Long shifts

Working as a labourer in the ship yards years ago we used to seven 12 hour shifts a week. Think I did about 8 months without a day off once.

Just after Xmas one year we were late getting a P&O ferry out of Dock that had to sail to Calais for passengers, so ended up working a 26 hour shift on the promise of a staggering financial bonus in my wages. Didn't sleep or nap but did stop to eat.
Never again, it almost killed me, I spewed my ring pretty much the second I got home.

Can't remember if I was ever suitably rewarded or not.

Around 32 hours commissioning a gas turbine that didn't want to be commissioned. That doesn't include the 2 hours in the bar afterward before my head hit the pillow and went into a coma.

Longest one without any sleep at all was 24 hours for me. Prior to 2007 is about as much as i can remember about it and it involved Lithuanians robbing a taxi driver.
