Why dont they introduce legislation to say if you get caught with a knife in a stop by Police you will get 15 years...and you will serve it.There needs to be a strong message sent out that the public needs protecting
Must be a nightmare every time your kids go out for the night..wondering if they will come home.

Having a knife does not stop someone stabbing you... it only gives you the ability to stab them back...

Exactly. Having a knife makes you more likely to be stabbed. But I think that's a hard message to drum into people who are scared of being stabbed.

It isn't a hard message...it's really easy.

Just say it to them.

If you do it to a few the majority may just think the consequences of carrying are so severe i wont take the risk.
Tax should not in my humble be the reason we do nothing and let things get worse.

Is that really a reason not to do anything?
Go into "those " areas...show a presence...stop search and convict a few.Send out a clear message if you carry a knife the implications are severe for you.The neighbourhoods where these things are happening seem to want action.

Looking at the photo`s in that article of the ones murdered theres a blindingly obvious reason why there isnt much will to change things. Wonder how quick things would change if it were white lads being killed

It already is isn't it? There was one on the news yesterday in Birmingham. It's quite common in Scotland and the wife (no) just said someone was stabbed outside gatesbys in sunderland last night. Anyone heard owt about that?

Radio 2 the other week had a big chunk of Jeremy Vines program about this. One spenk who had stabbed an unknown amount of people and done time for these crimes say that the only way we can protect our kids is by “finding god”
No other suggestions, just god.

How about arranging a mass knife-in at Hyde Park sponsored by a machete or samurai sword company. Viewing takings could go towards charities for violent crime and supporting the ambulance services.

I'd pay to watch that.
