London marathon

You might be pissed off with your time mate but hats off to you, I'd like to think I'll do a marathon one day, might set a target to do one before I turn 40 but training for a half marathon is enough, actually nearly more than I cope with at times!!

Well done

I did the Sunderland 10k last year and really have no desire to run any further than that. Congratulations on getting through it and very well done on raising the money.

Congratulations on finishing in difficult conditions. Respect to anybody who has made the effort to train for and to run in a marathon. Hold your head up high and take pride in your medals.

I'm training for the GNR and currently at about 8 miles......13 seems a long way off so no idea what it must take to do 26!! I do just under 9 min miles....these fellas yesterday were doing less than half that for 26 miles...I can't even sprint that fast!!

Anyone who trains to complete it deserves massive respect. It must take massive dedication just to even get to the point of being able to do that distance at whatever pace.

Well done mate!!

Note: this IS a look at me thread.

Up bright and early and off to run the london marathon.
Got a sore back and the shits through nerves so won't be fast but want to beat last years time.

Wish us luck then or at least embarrasing failure.

Lazy Bastard. ;)

Well done mate, I did it in 2005 with very little training (was injured and never got further than 12 miles pre run) and did it in 5hrs 5 mins.

It was only the amount of sponsorship over my head which made me finish. I was crippled for about a week, and lost all of my toenails in the preceding 3 months. Still a fantastic day looking back.
