Not too bad now, only a reasonably small area affected. Will be bad in 2021 though!

£87.50* a week if you live in London after 2021. The rich will buy new cars. The poor won't and therefore will be hit by this tax the hardest. And it won't really lessen traffic in London and if it does it will likely end up on the M25 which is already chocca.

To be fair people have known for a few years that this was coming in
Likely to happen in other cities - Birmingham, Sheffield, Oxford and a few others were mentioned on the radio this morning. In some cases, it may be commercial vehicles only.

We use ours quite a bit now. Use it for the nursery run and getting out of London at the weekend.
If it works like the current Congestion charge, you only get charged when you leave and come back in, I think.
Anyone living in the area affected would be mad to drive anywhere daily anyway.
Will it reduce the amount of cars on the road? Not by enough. (Not that I have any great answers on how to reduce the congestion on London's roads).

I left before issue were an issue.
What about plumbers living in say Forest Hill.
(According to the guy at work his dad will have to buy a new car because he will be living in the zone come 2021 and he can't afford £87.50 a week, and he needs his car for work, I think he runs a cafe).
