Got a few days off next week and looking at places to go etc with kids 6 and 2 year old, as thread title suggests. Haven't been to lightwater valley or flamingo land in about 30 years so what's it like now? Forbidden corner gets good reviews as well. Anyone been to these recently?

Forbidden Corner, was there last year, very good, not sure the 2yo would get the best out of it, the 6yo would love it

There last week with the works family day, luckily only £10 a ticket and the bairns for nowt, I'd had to have paid £40 for an adult!

Not enough stuff for them to do at that age, dont bother.

Or this - 2018 Opening Times & Prices - Petting Zoo out Stoneygate way - check the website for opening times though

Unless you can get 2 for 1 tickets flamingo land is extortionate, about £40 a tickets, Lightwater valley is a lot cheaper and the age of your kids they'd get a lot more out of Lightwater Valley. My friend went last week with her 2 year old and 2 8 year olds and she said there was loads for them to do.

Flamingo Land has got a really good campsite. You can get deals in that are no more expensive than going for the day, and you get the leisure centre and evening entertainment all in with the price.

If you've got a tent like.

Let them walk to Beamish and back. They'll be so knackered they'll not want to do anything else.

Both free and healthy.
