Local lockdown

By no means a conspiracy theorist, I may have missed people with an alternative view on tv but I have Sky News on in the background while working from home and it’s just non stop Covid hysteria.

You’ve just said “your lot” only want to follow the evidence you agree with. Not what you’re doing by dismissing the links on this page?

FT is hardly Sky News mind.
Nah you’re right. Nobody has ever heard of the FT. This is some deep state shit.

I mean, I had to try really hard to find this article from that barely known media outlet The Sun.

There is logic and reason though.

The same people crowing about breaking the rules will be foaming at the govt if their parents or grandparents are dying in overcrowded hospitals this winter.

Too many people are selfish, uneducated morons, including several in this very thread

The strategy if you can call it that has been inconsistent ambiguous and financially led.

There is no logic and reason. The government are doing exactly what they want you to. Attack members of your local community than the government themselves.

You are labelling people in this thread thick but a very educated person in Raab held the rules in more contempt than anyone on this thread

In the opinion of a councillor and the BBC 🤷‍♂️

I imagine that one of the first things a person is asked after returning a positive test is their whereabouts in the preceding few days. If this fella has decided to go on a pub crawl then it's not beyond the realms of reality to suggest he could've passed it on to a load of other people.

Have any of these pubs read the full guidance, as it says:

"If you operate a business or organise events within the affected areas you should take steps to ensure people do not socialise with people they do not live with, in line with COVID-19 secure guidance."

I can see a few falling foul of this, although it's another matter if any action is taken against them.

Couple of pubs have been reported apparently.

Running Waters pub not far from where I live looked busy at half 5.

Busy is fine. Most pubs have been since they opened back up. Good to see. It's those not following guidelines that are the issue.
Hopefully those that are encouraging it get a visit and get shutdown.

Yup. Was talking to an owner of a boozer and he was saying they won't be encouraging or discouraging. His example was saying if three middle aged blokes who he knows as regulars come in, as long as they sanitise, wear a mask when wandering etc its fine. On the other hand if six random teenagers rock up looking to get stotting they'll be told they're not coming in.

Have pubs been asking people to where masks when not seated? I've not been in many but never seen that.

Pub in Sunderland 2 hours ago "We have now just been informed that the information we were supplied yesterday off sunderland council is wrong and it is now only advisory information therefore tables of up to 6 people can meet from different households! However it is still table service only! Sorry for the confusion!"
