Houghton 1s called off y'day down at Newton Aycliffe. No idea on the 2s.

If there's no rain today, I think we'll see which teams make the effort to get games on and which umpires are quick to call it off. Games can start any time up till 4pm (ish) in our league and given the weather and bonus points might well decide promotion/relegation so would make sense to try and get a game on.

Sounds simplistic doesn't it.

Never is! I think some grounds will be saturated but it won't stop clubs getting the towels out and waiting till 4

Yeah that's my point. Unless the umpire beats them to it, picks up their money and fucks off.

I think today will be another day where if everyone waits then there might be some cricket. But most clubs will call off/have called it off anyway. Understandable I guess.

Only Brandon 2nds on in the County League as far as I know.

Nah, that's off too now marra. Called off at 11.30, had to admit defeat, the wicket was fine but there was an issue on the run-ups from one end. It's still wet now and I think it was due to the weight of water recently just meaning the drains were so full!
