Loan watch

Completely forgot about Matete

Anyone for any reason been keeping an eye on league one?

Has he been decent?
Not sure he's been getting full gametime, check now and again but tend to check on how the youngsters are getting on as they are the future of our club
Crompton (68mins) in away defeat to Solihull 2-0

Richardson - not in squad away to Morpeth, match underway.
Crompton - match yesterday

Salford 2 nowt up away from home
Could it be another clean sheet for Matty ?
( not sure exactly but would that be 7 out of 8 ) ?

Salfords results have changed remarkably since he came into the team. Not sure how much of that could be attributed to him though but he must be performing well.
Last I checked the opposition had 8 corner ( on 65 mins )
So his goal has been under threat ?
As you say not sure how much he’s done but all you can do is keep racking up clean sheets
2nd off top now

Yeah it’s not all about how many saves are made but equally how he commands his box, positions himself and communicates to his defense. Be interesting if there are any stats for any of this and compare them to the previous keeper.

I posted on here on about the salford pod cast “one up front”
If you are interested well worth a listen to keep up with how he’s progressing ( brilliantly it seems )
He’s ousted their more experienced keeper and the four that were on the pod cast all rated Young more highly already than the other keeper ( who they also liked )
One said Young is an England certainty ?! !And other all rated highly in every attribute -kicking ( radar like ) and command of box , saves. They were concerned about a recall in January
Only slight negative was vocality but that was down to inexperience and new club ( even then he’s getting better )
He’s kept a couple more clean sheets since then so they will be even more positive?
His stock is only going one way
Pleased we tied him down

Just had a look for some stats to compare Young and jones. Only thing I could find shows shots faced, % saved.
It seems Sanford are facing 2 shots on target per game since Young has played compared to 3 previously.
Young has saved 93% of the shots he has faced compared to 67% for Jones.
So it’s impressive but of course it doesn’t tell the full story.
Interesting about the podcast you mention. Looking forward to seeing this lad in goal for us in a year or two.

My mate in his 60s been man city season ticket holder all his life
They are at home to Salford in the cup -he might be busy but be good to get his thoughts ( I think he may be impressed)

Jones started the season in goal with young only getting cup games so this may be reversed although as said above be a great test for young if he gets the chance.

Triantis with an assist for Hibs.

Watching the game and he’s played canny. Looks like one of their better players to me.

Level is higher than league 1maybe bottom end championship, just about.
He’s clearly got an eye for a pass, good positionally and wouldn’t write him off making it with us.

Yeah watched hibs game and he looked decent but bet the hibs fans weren't happy playing against 10 men for a large proportion of the game and only scrapping a draw. 1-1
Bainbridge - unused sub for Kilmarnock in 2-0 home win against st mirren.
Young - away mk dons 15.00 ko
Richardson - Blyth (postponed)
Kelly - Darlo (postponed)
Triantis - home to rangers tmrw 12.00 ko
Bainbridge - home to Ross county tmrw 15.00 ko

Ekwah started in Lique 1 as CDM and played full 90 in a 3-1 against Reims but according to a lot on here, isn’t good enough as a back up for Dan Neil for us :D
