Again spoke pretty well. A couple of points. He keeps referring to the last couple of games when we have lost 3 including home to second bottom Charlton. Secondly, his descriptions of how he deals with down turns always sounds so theoretical I sometimes wonder whether he carries the players with him. Although he was making sense I wonder if players ever find him condescending.

Talks a lot of sense the vast majority of the time.

The hard part is translating that to the players on the field. If Flanagan and Doyle are going to be weak contesting headers, the full backs can’t stop crosses coming in and attacking players switch off when we lose possession there’s not a lot you can do.

You think they do ?
Mentions our high press and getting stretched as a result ? We are not pressing we are dropping right off players giving them loads of space. Against Wednesday we were on average 3 yards away from the their players who had way too much time
I watched the lowlights in the airport yesterday. Which game was he referring to when he mentions high press?

he tries really hard to to use the words to back that up but sadly does not have the theories to put it into practice.
You can argue whether it’s working on a game by game basis but to look at how he had us playing earlier in the season and say he doesn’t have theory or a philosophy or whatever is just plain wrong.

He’s one of these that use 26 big words from the thesaurus of cliches he swallowed, when 3 or 4 will suffice.

Instead of all the dribble a simple, “I’ve been here before, unfortunately I’ve never been able to change it, hopefully I can this time, we are working on it” would be enough.

Instead it’s just bullshit.

he insisted again that we have been on a Championship style run of fixtures and yet Sheffield Wednesday looked far from Championship style opponents

Yes he does he finds a groove, he tries a few things and one will come off, and when he keeps it simple it works for a while, it works very well, it did last season too.

The best of it is, after his losing streaks or when things don’t go right, he’s humble again. He takes too long to change it and come up with a solution, because he gets in his own way, hence the losing streaks.

Once he finds a way out of it, you get some good football and a spell of winning games. Then the arrogance re-emerges, he tries too much, gets found out and the process repeats.

Until the man realises he isn’t a tactical master, this will be his level, hovering around never quite getting promotion.

Getting repeatedly howked is part of the season apparently, in league one.
Couple of hiccups? we've played well about 5 times this season in the league.
Poor defensive organisation hasn't happened before during my tenure, really is that a fact?
Set 30 minutes aside to meet about defensive principles, what is that all?
We look to high press and win 50:50's, we are not even getting near them balls Lee and haven't done for months.
Excusing appalling shambolic displays by referencing championship style opposition.

I’m not too fussed about what he says or how he says it, I’d just like us to start resembling a side that knows what it’s doing again and the odd clean sheet wouldn’t go amiss.

Wtf is championship style opposition. They weren't good enough to stay in it and one has been getting beat regularly. He's a clown. Hopefully Ipswich see him off

if only he could talk his defenders into reacting first to a cross, instead of watching the forwards boot the ball into the net
We'd be better off if we anticipated whats about to happen instead. Reacting to what has already happened is a big part of our problem in both penalty areas.
