Liverpool have matched Manchester United's record points total

It was interesting listening to Pep earlier. He was saying how much otheds have had to raise the bar to match them. I think Spurs might spend big this summer.

When was the gap bigger between top and bottom?

What you mean, we got relegated on 15 and 19 points?

Its big but these are too exceptional teams who would be just as good in any other year, don't think should try and take credit away from them

Some tough teams like, teams are spending fortunes on players throughout the leageu

On a side note the top 4 in our league could finish with 90+ points, while Lincoln have won league 2 with 85. Just shows how tough it's been.
That's right, everyone who's slating us for not running away with League One should realise that it's very competitive within the top 4 this season and automatic promotion is not guaranteed.

Aye but look at how shite the bottom of the division is, must be the biggest gap ever.

Look at the gap to third - 19 points.

Then the gap from 6-7th - 13 points.

It’s been the worst season for massive gaps opening up imo. There’s no way for a team to break into the top 6 on a regular basis nowadays. Fair enough Wolves have spent an absolute ton of cash but even then they can only get 60 points maximum. It’s a shit league in all honesty.

Mind none of the other European leagues are competitive at the top anymore.

Juventus have a 20 point lead, Barca have a 9 point lead, there’s 18 points between 2/3rd in Holland, PSG have a 19 point lead, Porto and Benfica are 8 points clear. Top flight football is irretrievably fucked.

I mind less because I find Guardiola and Klopp’s tactics and philosophies fascinating, but ultimately aye it’s damaging for the game in this country.

Overall this is the weakest premier league in a long time. It’s not just the sides towards the bottom that are poor, the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea have spent huge chunks of the season in “crisis”, Man Utd are also pretty shite, Arsenal are nowhere near the side they used to be and Spurs failed to invest and it shows in the league.

How are the English teams doing in Europe the year?

Arsenal and Chelsea doing well in a 2nd rate competition amongst mostly poor sides doesn’t really change anything. Only Spurs have actually reached a level you wouldn’t expect.

Doing well in a completely different tournament doesn’t really change the fact their sides overall are poor. Chelsea have underperformed. Arsenal and Man Utd have a handful of players between them that would make the City/Liverpool sides.
