I'm perusing my private library (of which I am both librarian & sole customer), browsing through some owld titles, wondering what to reread next. There's the usual stuff: Dickens, Proust, Shakespeare, Wizz For Atoms, In the Psychiatrist's Chair. Then there are a few lesser known yet equally wonderful publications, such as Heaps in the Desert, by Mustapha Kaka, The Seabird, by Albert Ross & that racy, saucy classic farce of the 1960s, Me Knickers are Farling Down, by Lucy Lastic. Decisions, decisions....
Nice collection

Just finished Jonathan Safran Foer's "Here I am" which I really, really enjoyed. Released in 2016. That's how far behind I am on my reading list. Everyone knows I love to read so I get recommended books like a motherfucker from my family and friends. Like I said, still working on the 2016 list

Nowt wrang with that, marra. These days, I tend to read poetry & non-fiction, or occasionally a collection of short stories. Most are from rather further back in time than 2016.

Tonight I’m not doing that but I am pan frying cod loin & putting it on cannellini beans - in them is loads of fresh garlic, ginger, chillis & dry cooked spices with extra hot sriracha sauce ( mixing green veg in for the last few mins).
That should work ;)
That sounds delicious, Wakey. I love cod, such a blank slate that it truly absorbs the flavors.
The Mrs is having poached salmon and sweet chilli sauce. The inconsiderate bugger.🙁
Yum. Sorry you can't have any😞

I am only on page 10 of the thread!

But loving every minute of it!

Guys?!?

I didn't know you were American like me, pal. Nice

;)

Aww, hope you feel better, pal.

Ugh, those are the worst. Stay hydrated and get rest, pal. Hope the fucker gets flushed out of your system soon.
Good afternoon your Loniousness.
Thanks marra. Much appreciated.
I’ve had nothing but water since yesterday evening and I fell better than I have for a week. I’m just lying on top of the bed now with the ceiling fan on and the windows wide open, sweating buckets. It’s nine degrees outside. 😂😂😂

Evening guys, great thread to read and catch-up on, as always. Works done for a month now so getting ready to get up to Poulton and watch our game. Have a great night but don't let our game spoil your nights entertainment.

@thecloughywobble Evening mate, hope you've had a good day. Nice posts btw.

Cheers @TaylorBoosh , Hopefully our luck will change, thanks and have a great night.
I love reading this tread, too. I learn a lot on here, actually. It's funny, light, deep, educational, etc. Best thread on the SMB hands down.

Love everyone who contributes to it.
Evening, Friar....
You misspelled "fryer"
Good Evening, Monk, from dear old, Blighty.
Good riddance to that person, I say.
I fear he'll eventually walk away, from his new employers, as he did with your company. (As he's perfectly, entitled to do) though, the way he was using your companies office equipment, to set himself up in a new job, and with a competitor, shows a huge lack of class on his part, as well as a total lack of respect, to your company.

Have a good day, friend 👍
I don't know what's wrong with people nowadays. Earlier this year we had to fire a lady from accounting and some sales people because they were making up expense reports and basically stealing from the company. I have let go of more people in these past two years than in my entire 15+ years working here. I don't get it.

Hope you're having a wonderful day, by the way.
Apparently, SD is at a talk in, tonight, and supposedly told the audience, nothing is sorted yet, and it may take a couple more weeks, to finally complete the takeover.
I would think these things take a while to sort out. It's not like they're buying a f***ing pizza, y'know what I mean? I had to pull myself from that thread. I'll just sit back and enjoy my time and then cheer once it happens.

Oh, I also read some of the older stuff. That's why I get behind on my list. I love to go back and read books that I loved when I was younger just to read them from a different (older) perspective. I've learned a lot about myself.

I've had that stomach bacteria before and it's the shits (yeah, pun intended, I know how much you fuckers love your puns). I really hope you feel better soon.

At least you're in good spirits, that's always a good thing.

Keep drinking the water, only way to flush the fucker out.

Cheers Monk, and likewise, a wonderful day to you, also. 👍

The takeover, will hopefully happen in due course.
These things cannot be rushed, though how easy it would be, if all mega-million £ deals, were as easy to complete, as buying a pizza, lol

Two old ones I find myself going back to every decade or so, both American (gasp!) are To Kill a Mockingbird & The Catcher in the Rye. Plus, to notch the hattrick, The Great Gatsby. Once you get owa the fact that Americans can't spell, proper like, they're fine works.

Evening Monkster

Did some baking tonight. I can be girly sometimes
What did you bake?

I guess in that case, I can be girly, too - I love to bake!

Both of those books are my son's favorite, in particular, The Catcher in the Rye. He designed his own skateboard deck (yes, my son also skateboards, shock!) with this design:

It came out really nice.

Holden Caulfield in his red hunting cap. Nice image. It's funny seeing a visual representation of him, because - to me - he's only ever existed in me heed! I always think it was a fine thing that Salinger always refused to sell the film rights.
This is getting hoyed up on here afore I gan up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire, for no reason other than that there's so much garn on it's hard to decide what's best. The drummer takes some beating, the dancers are topper & behind it arl lies a decent tune.

Then, of course, there's this:

Over & out. Sweet dreams.

I'll try to add those two volumes to my collection, Edd, la. Cheers. There's also the soon to be released biography of Boris Johnson to look out for, entitled All Prick, Nee Conscience by Warwick Hunt.
