Little trees at the AOL

Wasnt there a deal put in place for the tree huggers who didnt want the AOL built there because it was on a naturewalk foot path or something like that, we had to plant so many trees to help the deal go through
 
Tbf to the OP I heard Pete Friar told Bruce that these trees would cause injury to our players, they're so small that the players keep tripping over them. BRUCE OUT!

It was a right of way that had been there for nearly 1500 years. It's not like there wasn't a load of other different vacant sites around (and even in) Sunderland that would have been easier to develop and gave the club a lot less hassle.
