Litmus test now to see if Hughton is genuinely a "dignified" and good man...

Indeed... Just look at the recent past when players have embarrased the club....
Diouf threatening Anton with a knife, And that video of Brown, lawrence, Alnwick etc None of these players survived the next transfer window....

At Nufc they would be feted as heroes.

Exactly.

Diouf threatens Anton with a knife - he's transferred.
Carroll breaks Taylor's jaw - he's the new messiah.
Lawrence and friends record a porn video - they're transferred.
Barton is released from prison - he's the new messiah.

Hideous club.

Am i right in thinking this thread is ridiculous ? Yes Joey is a loose cannon, yes no-one is condoning his actions but this red n white self rightousness is getting beyond a joke.
I refuse to believe that if yous had decent player who was from the wrong side of the tracks that you would be caling for his head.

In an ideal world everyone would be a Bobby Charlon or a Gary Linekar but its not. Its a rough game for working class lads. Lokk at Cantona, Maradona etc. Did you ever hear a Man U or Barca fan complaining, Im not saying that hes in there class, course he isnt but he's a good player who gives 100 %. I would never condone some of his actions and I was repulsed by the cctv footage of when he turned that lad over in Liverpool but all this talk of yous being holier than thou is a ittle bit embarrising. Call him a C**T as much as yous want but all this mother theresa self rightousness is a bit to far

Refuse to believe it all you like, that's exactly what we would be doing.

although tbf in the same game jason roberts took a swing at collocini right in front of the linesman, he was only booked for it. raising your hands is violent conduct sent off 3 match ban?

Barton actually did this in the Sunderland game as well. He didn't throw a punch but he raised his hands and pushed one of our lot away - not sure who. Didn't even get a yellow.

was it not Enrique on Cattermole. There was also the unpunished elbow from Cococini too

Defending the defenseless again

Hughton had no complaints over Coloccini's red card, though he insisted the 28-year-old isn't a "malicious" player.

"No arguments with the red card though. With Coloccini, it's worth stating that he's not a malicious player. It was a frustrating afternoon for him.

"I think Elmander was going to do him for pace. I don't think there is maliciousness in it."

Obviously not a malicious elbow as he was just being done for pace
What a cockend.

Indeed, and now Williamson officially charged, and certain to get Hughton's backing oncemore. Perhaps if he condemned these incidents rather than condoned them, he wouldn't keep on having his players suspended.

Anyone still want to claim he is a dignified man, btw?

In contrast with Bruce publically slamming Cattermole for his red cards and his comments when Jones got sent off against West Ham.

He has pushed him but he goes down as if he has been poleaxed. I can't defend Kenwyne because we know it was stupid.

Absolutely. Their manager is telling them they are doing nothing wrong, so why should they stop? The standards have to be set from the top.
