Totally agree but was surprised by number of homeless and £ shops, really wasn’t expecting that

It's homeless issue is far worse than many bigger cities... my wife felt intimidated as we walked back to our hotel from a restaurant near the Cathedral

That's not true. A lot of our fans spent to entire game shouting 'Ross Out' for the entire 90 minutes and a lot of others spent the entire 90 minutes arguing with them.

We sold 28k. The club need to report that for tax reasons. If they did not all turn up that's not the clkubs issue. They are just reporting how many tickets were sold. I really don't know why people either can't understand this or try and use it as a stick to hit the club with.
Who doesn't understand? Not once have I read that people don't understand the club have to announce how many tickets were sold. How many actually turn up is a far better indicator of how things are going or viewed by fans. The club should have a close eye on it.

The number of people actually in the ground, is logged in case of emergency, and the crowd need to be evacuated from the stadium.
I'd imagine there'd be a big difference, between the number of tickets sold (inc SC's) and the actual number of people inside the ground, on a matchday, this season.

Of course. The club will be well aware and hopefully concerned that 1000s of season ticket holders have wrapped in, even if that money is in the bank. It'll be a decent indicator of how next season's sales could pan out.

Agreed.
It's only a guess, but another season in Division One, could see SC sales plunge from 24,000 to less than 20,000.

Was told there was mags with them in town.

Never saw any and we were in the Rabbit with them
Good turnout. Swelled unfortunately by a group who marched over about 2 o'clock. Identikit bellends singing the same shite every other small club having a big day out have done. No harm done suppose

They were all in the Rabbit, for some reason the stone island brigade decided to leave just after 2 with a police escort - the fans with Lincoln scarves etc stayed in the pub and had a few more beers.

Mate that was an all time low performance, worst I have ever seen going back 43 years. I left before the final whistle for the first time since 1984.

At what age did you move away from Sunderland btw? Many have moved away but v few adopt another team like you seem to have done.
Brought up in Hylton Castle and left to join the military at 15 .. Most of my military time was spent between lincolnshire/Germany .. Always got to see Sunderland when i could , but in 2016 dragged with a mate to watch lincoln in there cup run the Cowley era.... From then i was sucked into the Lincoln family cause thats what it is .. There were 2 fantastic promotions and cup runs with the Cowleys .. There are many ex military football peaple living in Lincoln who have also joined into the Lincoln football family .. The fans of Lincoln are really special supporters and the Cowley times joined the club into a big family .. The biggest thing is how many mums/dads take the kids to the home and away matches ( maybe this is common now) ..Sunderland fans are recognised as friendly and supportive of there team but Lincoln are another level .. After lincolns performance yesterday , i dont know any other supporters who would have clapped and cheered there team like they did at the end , and thats the same after home and away matches .That is part of the package which brings the players /supporters together , .. .. The sad thing is that the Cowleys were made for Sunderland ,and i always hoped they would marry to take them back to the big times .Unfortunately Sunderland carried with jack Ross to long , and over the next few years i can see Huddersfield progressing to trophies in the premier instead of Sunderland ..The Cowley man management with players and supporters is tops , and loosing them was very hard to get over for everybody ..Many times i overheard peaple in Lincoln saying they wished the Cowleys were back .... The next step for the Cowleys will be England ( and winning the world cup) , or West Ham .. Up the Lincoln Family

Tranmere were beaten 5-0 at the SOL, this season, and while they had far fewer fans in our ground, than Lincoln did yesterday, they sang their hearts out for 90 minutes, even at 5-0 down, and at full time, they were singing and give their team a standing ovation.
Lincoln had great support yesterday and really backed their team.

Thought they were loud until the goals went in. Big following as well so they get no mocking from me.

Just bored of the same old shite chants about Netflix, you're not famous any more, Pl and you fucked it up etc
Youre gonna get that every week .. Sunderland are famous but teams in league 1are not Get used to it and ignore

People having a go at them for being quiet yet other having a go cos they only sang songs they didn’t like. 🙄
Who gives a fuck how loud a set of fans are, they paid their money and travelled in big numbers, were decent fans around the ground and pubs and caused no bother.
Good set of fans for me.
Alreet man. Chill out...

It does happen .. I remeber loosing 5-0 at Derby and Sunderland supporters singing WE SO HAPPY ITS UNBELIEVEABLE ..That was when Mick Harford at Derby

I thought they were great. Prematch I was worried that we would see another Coventry fiasco what-with them bringing 3500 but they were a very friendly bunch.

What I found really refreshing was the family atmosphere (a bit like Bristol Rovers/Wycombe last season). They came to have a good day and support their team without the need to go out like total wankers (unlike Coventry, Pompey, Southend and Luton). Yeah there was the Netflix stuff etc, but generally they were trying to lift their team.

I wish them well for the rest of the season
I'm sure it was Bristol last season when there was a Bristol dad and his son playing football on the beach, boring story but it was nice to see. Weather was scorching iirc, so good to see opposition fans enjoying the Riveira.

Always thought it was announced for tax reasons and the tradition has just kept going. Clubs would always say there was less than what was in the ground to save paying the taxman a little bit.

Bristol Rovers we had freezing rain. That family must be right hard bastards.

Literally every group of football fans in existence would have done the same in their biggest away game of the season.

Lincoln brought good numbers yesterday. But they barely mustered 2,000 when they were struggling. We're getting just shy of 30k every week during our bleakest days. If you want to compare; one set of supporters stands head and shoulders above the other. And it ain't lincolns.

There's that as well (allegedly) 😉 but there has to be an accurate record of the amount of people, going through the turnstiles, each game, in case of emergency.
I was told this, some time ago, by a mate who goes to suppoters club meetings.
