Liam Rosenior

No disrespect to Rosenior - I don't know much about the fella apart from his dad being a good player - but if he gets the job Speakman needs nailing to the wall about his "succession planning" nonsense because it's abundantly clear that this was not anything like the preferred choice or even close to it. No on should ever be beyond being held to account for their actions.

Just listened to the Second Tier podcast. They’ve got Rosenior at number one in the available managers. Full of praise for him.

By so called experts who can’t get a manager job or have failed.
What do they know about managing Sunderland?

It went well with Mowbray, who wasn't a popular appointment.

I'm not really in favour of Rosenior but the way in which he is being written off is way over the top
I'm certainly not writing him off and will get behind him (as I would anyone else)
Unfortunately the circumstances will be against anyone who comes in after Beale, Dodds, writing off last season, 112 days of succession planning recruitment so they will need to get off to a good start or a see a repeat of Beale

I don't think the majority of supporters will see another out of work freebie as great succession planning.
If they wanted Rosenior why not try and get him on 20th February this year?

As would I but this is sort of an own goal as he’s got no achievements and no experience. Kind of the point. It’s why I’m not that interested in a CV and “past achievements”
Well you thought Parkinson had won nothing in football (then admitted reaching a final was impressive, now who changes his mind like the wind?) so I won’t be valuing your opinion.

Maria has worked at big clubs, used to winning. Liam was sacked by Hull for failing and has never won anything.

Unless Will Still gets surprisingly appointed I don't think they can sell the next head coach as being first choice. They'll probably still call him an outstanding candidate and all the rest of it, but Still was clearly the first choice.

Sacked by Hull for failing and playing dour football.
It is surprising.
He has played under former SAFC managers Bruce and Keane.
He has journalist Henry Winter raving about him.Surprising as Winter appears to be very laid back, generally.
The owner of Brighton,Mr Bloom, who finds good coaches, rates him

He wants his team to play like a non - dour playing side

A Derby County goalkeeper went public and stated Rosenior stopped him taking goalkicks and had him playing out from the back.Hardly dour, more daring!

Maybe SAFC will strike lucky by serendipity and not good planning, preparation or data when it comes to a new head coach.

But you said you didn’t want a coach with no achievements and then you say want someone who hasn’t managed a first team let alone achieved anything?

Be consistent. You have to be fair and reasonable. You’re acting on a whim, deciding people you’d never heard of before are somehow better

They gave him a new three year contract in December! They’re absolute nut cases Hull’s owners. Not for sacking Rosenior but for various things they’ve done at Hull and their activities away from the club.

Such as?

Bloom is currently recruiting now. See how highly he rates him

There is no risk with rosenior. You know exactly what you’re getting. A hull city failure, so it won’t surprise anyone if he fails in Sunderland.
A hull team that missed out on play offs in a season with Leeds Southampton Ipswich Leicester Norwich West Brom boro coventry all at one point pushing for it

I wouldn’t say he failed missing out on the last day.

I’d say it’s underwhelming, but he’s young and will learn
