He's tidy. Jack has been mint. Lovely young central mid partnership , sign Alonso permanently and offer Liverpool 10 mill for borini.

What was said, roughly, for those not watching, mate?
Basically that:

Gus has brought him in to start every week, pinpointing this position specifically for him to play in.

Very good debut.

Telling seasoned pros in centre half how to go about distributing from the back.

Good range of passing and good in a tackle.

Extremely clever off the ball also covering the defensive positions when required.

Not ready for Real Madrid yet but will be a key player for us and a fantastic signing.

On a personal note. My new favourite player.

Is MNF repeated anywhere ? I'd like to see that analysis of Bridcutt

I for one am very excited about this signing. Watched him a few times and looks like he has everything we've been missing in that role in front of the back four. A player with the composure and passing ability of Ki with the stamina and tenacity of Cattermole (without the worry that uncontrolled aggression will lead to a mistake/bad challenge).

He got 6 assists last year for Brighton playing in that holding role also - Cattermole has less than half of that in his entire time with us (albeit, Cattermole has played ay a higher level).

I read something online somewhere today that asked Sunderland fans how they rate our capture of Bridcutt - how much of a 'big signing' was this? When Gus was asked the same thing, he responded as such:

'a spectacular signing'.

I've never heard him speak so highly of a player. I think we very well might have a new fan's favourite on our hands.

How are we all feeling about this one?

He deserves a thread on the front page -

Fine and what a cracking post.

So I found this on Squawka
Bad Debuts
Liam Bridcutt (-6)

Ok, so this one is harsh. Thrust into the intensity of a Tyne-Weir derby, and in a central midfield position to boot, Bridcutt was solid in his opening match for Sunderland. Typically for a derby, the match was not one for football purists, and left Bridcutt’s pass completion rate at a lowly 74%. Elsewhere in the Sunderland midfield, Ki secured a pass accuracy of 97%.
