I remember in the Checkatrade final McGeady was constantly screaming at O’Nien for some reason but at least O’Nien was giving it back. I originally assumed it was just because they both wanted to do well. Seems like it was more McGeady being an utter cockend.
I'd often point out to my mates McGeady and Oviedo would barely talk to each other when they were both on that left side. Lots of shrugs and heads down looking at the ground. There's probably a lot of little body language things like that when you go back and look at games. I can sympathise with Ross on some points but at the same time it was his job to build a team.

I commented a few times that Oviedo was just waiting for an excuse to go off injured. I remember him getting one in the knackers and asked to be substituted (which he was, soon after).
Now, it obviously hurts but he's the only player I've ever seen asking to to come off after getting the ball in his clems.

Strange, says the dressing room was shite, but praises Ross. Surely that's his job to sort that?

Morgan was very much Ross's golden boy at St Mirren and it sounds as though the rumours about him allowing McGeady to do whatever he liked in the dressing room were 100% true. No wonder he praised Ross.

I thought it was a good interview. I agree that Morgan is a gobshite but it highlights all the problems at the club and the character of some of the players.

Morgan's attitude shows the problem with some young players. Superstars before they kicked a ball.
Ross is a good coach but maybe too loyal to certain players. Scottish ones in particular.
The club is being ran by people with egos who think they know better than everyone else and still is.
McGeady is a prick. Just like he was at Celtic, Spartak and RoI. Thinks he's Messi.
The stories about cliques was true and a divide in the squad.
Cattermole, Oviedo and O'Nien weren't popular with some of the 'clique' which caused tension.
O'Nien is a nice lad but I can imagine he is a bit annoying in a nice way.
STID was the Methven show.
From top to bottom the club is shambles and far from the "most professional club in the history of League One".

For me the interview is more about the mess the club is in than Lewis Morgan.

Its not that he's said anything wrong, I just think he sounds like a total wanker regarding O'Nien and McGeady

I don't think he does tbh. Sounded to me like he got on with both. He was laughing about O'Nien more in a 'typical Luke' way because he knows him rather than sniping at him. Imo anyway.

Quite interesting actually. Opens up by saying ‘you could tell the club was a bit of a shambles and not the managing or playing side’. Also says the dressing room was split but doesn’t go as far as saying negative.

So, The gaffa and the players were great, but the club stopped them getting promotion?

Must admit that I thought that the stories about McGeady being a bell behind the scenes were massively exaggerated due to the fact that that we were interested in signing a pair of notorious bellends in Kyle Lafferty and Gary Madine in the same window but no that was yet another example of the stupidity of everyone involved in our transfer policy. Got absolutely no idea why I'm the slightest bit surprised about that.

Oviedo was soft as shite like. Never really forgave him for walking off in that Sheff Wed game near the end of the Championship season. A crucial game and it was obvious he didn't fancy it in the second half.

That said, it was an absolute joke how many times Reece James was picked ahead of him.

He sounds like a typical thick as fuck footballer with an over inflated opinion of himself.
How dare O'Nien read a book? He should be slowly killing himself with drink like that waster McGeady

Eh? Was more McGeady wanted to be involved because he thought he was the most intelligent so every time there was something intellectual going on he piled in? Don’t think he was hammering him for reading a book listening to that

While he makes some valid points about certain people such as Oviedo, Donald and Methven and the behaviour of Mcgeady, it's embarrassing how he defends Mcgeady's actions.

Having a dig at O'Nien saying he plays up to the fans when he's actually probably the hardest working player we have and picked himself up off the floor after a tough first few months shows the character he has.

On the other hand, you've got this shitbag Morgan who thinks he's a world beater and goes off in a strop a week before the playoff final because he's not playing and says he couldn't get his head right for the game.

Just goes to show how unprofessional he is and why he didn't make it at Celtic, nor Sunderland in league one and why he's now playing in the USA in a league that no one gives two fucks about.

Awful attitude.

James was picked ahead of him regularly because he was soft as shite and a shit player. Still amazes me the lack of stick Oviedo gets for his performances here. Him coming back into the team coincided massively with our defence looking horrendous. Contributed massively to the Coventry farce.

He comes across as right little ****
Don’t have a problem with mcgeady calling people out and demanding higher standards mind like the incident with burton at home. He’s absolutely spot on and we should never accept such levels.
This. He’s played at a higher level so probably expects more. Having dossers accepting draws against these garbage clubs showed up the quality of players and the level of the recruitment team. Wankers.

1.03.30 says he plays up to the fans. Not wrong anarl
Yeah, a kid that behaves and listen to his mam is just "playing up" to their mam as well, fans want to connect with players and they like players who work their socks off and give 100% what would he like to do ironically not try to prove how unmoved he is, fuck off man what a little snake coming out with that shit.

I liked the story of McGeady calling them out after the Burton game. We completely bottled that - we'd gone level with Barnsley with 2 games in hand after beating Rochdale in the last minute on the Saturday then had the first of the games in hand midweek. We were awful and looked like the pressure had got to us which was the start of the bad run throwing away promotion.

There's a fine line between having high standards and being a wanker though. Remember Watmore saying Defoe was hard on him in training when he didn't pass to his feet but also said Defoe was his biggest fan and was always giving him advice and trying to get the best out of him, he was like a mentor to him and he could go to him any time. Whereas it sounds like McGeady was just a dick and the younger lads were intimidated by him.

You could say the squad was soft and weak but I always think a good leader adapts to get the best out of what they have and the senior players should be able to give them a kick up the arse when needed but also help nurture them.

Si Ferry is a good interviewer but I think he leads Morgan on a bit here with the 'isn't McGeady great' crack and the digs at O'Nien and Cattermole. Unprofessional from Morgan but I think he's just playing up to the audience more than anything else.
