Aye it is. Do you get rid of Roy Keane/Gattuso or find players to fit?
Can you see the difference in impact between that sort of thing coming from serial winners like Keane or Gattuso versus a proven waster like McGeady?
This. If the lads were scared of him/didn't know how to react/wouldn't say a word back and he keeps on doing it relentlessly, then it's not "banter".

Some of our players being "weak" doesn't excuse McGeady either. He was targeting O'Nien man, a 23/24 year old lad, who's only ever played at a small club was adapting to a new location, a massive club, a whole change in culture and was possibly a bit awestruck by people like McGeady.

Your senior players and leaders need to build players up as well and have their backs, it can't all be put downs.

It's no surprise to me that he kept his distance and didn't have his type of "banter" with Catts.
Catts would have put him on his arse

1.03.30 says he plays up to the fans. Not wrong anarl
Don’t think he does it in a bad way. He gives his all and enjoys a bit of crack with the supporters. In an era when players and supporters seem further apart than ever I don’t see why it’s something to have a dig at him about.

Never once thought O’Nien was playing up to the fans at all. I just see a decent bloke working his arse off. Maybe that’s what Morgan didn’t like, being put to shame for the half arsed attitude he had throughout his unmemorable time here. Really annoying when no mark players like Morgan talk about the bad time they had at our club but did little or nothing to make it just a little bit better on the pitch

Photo by Ian Horrocks/Sunderland AFC via Getty Images Speaking in an interview with Open Goal Podcast, former Sunderland winger Lewis Morgan spoke honestly about his experiences on Wearside - labelling the club ‘a shambles’. The latest edition of the Open Goal podcast with Si Ferry features one-time Sunderland loanee Lewis Morgan, who...

Not much of this surprises me. His attitude was appalling in the build up to the play off final. I do remember him being anonymous when he came on.

Exactly this mate. Been told a few stories about O'Nien going out of his way to do things for fans. Believe it or not there's 2 Wycombe fans that have been up to a lot of our homes games since he joined to watch him, O'Nien has sorted it all out for them as well. Was also told about him turning upto a bairns party after his parents contacted him telling O'Nien that the kid worshipped him. O'Nien was sat playing party games with the kids. He seems like a genuinely nice kid.

McGeady has always been a wanker, right through his career.

This has made me sympathise with Parkinson a bit more, clearly walked into a bit of a toxic environment. Ross should have had this sorted out, but he was probably a bit awestruck by McGeady as well seeing as he'd only ever played for and managed some no-mark scottish teams.

As for Morgan, his mentality as shown up by the interview is why he hasn't made a career at a decent level.

The number of people who think bullying in the changing room is a positive thing. Do you think Liverpool under Klopp and captained by Henderson would tolerate bullying of their young players? McGeady is an arsehole, needs a team to build their entire system around him and hes now close to 35 and a busted flush.

He can fuck off.
I have no problem with anything he said, he was being honest which is what we want isn't it? He called it as he saw it which has upset a few oversensitive people on here.

Laughing at a Sunderland captain missing a penalty in a play off final because of the irony of him wanting it so much. You don't have a problem with that?

fair enough - each to their own.

I remember in the Checkatrade final McGeady was constantly screaming at O’Nien for some reason but at least O’Nien was giving it back. I originally assumed it was just because they both wanted to do well. Seems like it was more McGeady being an utter cockend.

We've had professional players like Jermain Defoe who some of the young players idolised. Imagine how shite it must be for O'nein who'd have been over the moon at the prospect of playing with players like Aiden McGeady when he signed. Then finding out the bloke is a certified arse hole who takes the piss out of you constantly and would rather be on the drink than pull his boots on.

As much as many wont like it pretty much confirms all the rumours going round at the time. A squad of strangers, a club in a mess from top to bottom. Mcgeady acting billy big bollocks, a squad of cowards scared to stand up to him or take the game by the scruff of the neck. It’s worrying a few of that squad are still here.
