Not think there’s big egos in football though mate? End of the day if the dressing room couldn’t deal with him it says as much about him as it does the dressing room imo.

We’re soft as fuck and it shows on the pitch too. Constantly bullied in away games.

Listened to a decent podcast from carragher and Henderson, Henderson saying Suarez was constantly having good at him in training implying he wasn’t good enough for lpool and he eventually lost it , said he gained his respect and mates after it...if the players let mcgeedy bully them your right that says more about those players

Completely forgot who he was.
There was a quiz the other day on here where you had to list all the players who played under jack ross and this utter irrelevance was the only 1st team player I missed
Maybe I prefer the Glasgow crak but he's clearly identifying a difference in culture. To me he's describing crak with friends, you grill people, but I get that's not in vogue either. If it's making people uncomfortable then that's an issue, but a young lad like Morgan shrugging it off as crak makes me think it was probably not too bad.

I don't know, wasn't in the room. Everyone on here loved it when Geads called the youth team snowballers gimps, but I suspect that's partly why our best player doesn't play. Seems sad to me.
Aye I don’t know when grilling a lad for reading a book became “bullying”. It’s a f***ing dressing room.

He said the English lads were scared of him. That he surrounded himself with his Scottish cronies. If that's not being a bully I don't know what is.

FWIW I don't mind a few strong personalities at graft but only when they've got something useful to say. If they're going around throwing weight about cos they're pissed off at how their careers have ended up then that's another thing entirely.

People comparing McGeady with Roy Keane n'all... f***ing hell man.

To me it just sounds like our dressing room are weak as piss and don’t have the mentality to succeed. It’s football, they have to have strong personalities. Getting a bit of grief for reading from a lairy Scotsman is nowt compared to the grief you’ll get from 30,000 pissed up footy supporters

I do agree that our dressing room seemed weak. I mean if you're accepting shit from a little milky prick like Lewis Morgan then you really need to have a word with yourself.

Still uncomfortable with the idea that McGeady was running about and owning the dressing room though. I know you need big personalities but you need to use them in the right way. Seems like Ross let that one get out of hand IMO.

This. If the lads were scared of him/didn't know how to react/wouldn't say a word back and he keeps on doing it relentlessly, then it's not "banter".

Some of our players being "weak" doesn't excuse McGeady either. He was targeting O'Nien man, a 23/24 year old lad, who's only ever played at a small club was adapting to a new location, a massive club, a whole change in culture and was possibly a bit awestruck by people like McGeady.

Your senior players and leaders need to build players up as well and have their backs, it can't all be put downs.

It's no surprise to me that he kept his distance and didn't have his type of "banter" with Catts.

This Mcgeady craic seems very reminiscent of what I was told my @meeowdam ....
and if anyone thinks bullying a kid for trying to make the most of what all of us would see as a massive opportunity in playing for SAFC is acceptable is on another planet, and well done PP for splitting up him and Maguire, like f***ing kids at school man, strength comes from unity.

I was told about the constant bullying of O’Nein that’s why McGeady was chased. More and more of these podcasts coming out with tinpot footballers on, with their zany stories and banter

One of the softest players I've seen for us.
And bizarrely seemed to only have the stamina to play one half before he was blowing out of his arse, despite being young
Also reckoned we weren’t good enough to go up and it would have been papering over the cracks - I agree with that too. He’s right that we needed a lot of investment.
On paper we had the best side in the division by a mile. Oviedo, Cattermole, Power, Grigg and others proven at top of league one or even world cups. And he should have been counting himself as a top player by league one standards. We should have won the league by a country mile with our squad.

Would you rather his attitude stink?

Eh

True on paper but way we actually played we weren’t good enough. For me we didn’t have any commanding players and it cost us. I watched Luton play that year with Bradley and Pearson CBS and they were warriors, fighting to win every ball, physical and dominating teams in the air. They seemed like big characters too, especially Bradley and I think we were really passive at centre back, there wasn’t any leaders there. I can’t imagine the Luton CBs would have put up with any shit.
