Amazing conversation, this.

Sounds to me like McGeady, Ross, Morgan (Maguire) are the exact crak I'd want, and people that don't get that probably not the ones for us.
Kind of surprised by the board consensus, I thought most here liked a bit of free speech and spirit?

Again, awesome listen this, cheers.
"He didn't know anything about football" - Morgan on Methven

I'm pretty much certain that a group of thick, underachieving bullies isn't what makes a good dressing room like.

Yep slagging off your teammates is 100% what you want. Its definitely going to create a great team atmosphere.
Maybe I prefer the Glasgow crak but he's clearly identifying a difference in culture. To me he's describing crak with friends, you grill people, but I get that's not in vogue either. If it's making people uncomfortable then that's an issue, but a young lad like Morgan shrugging it off as crak makes me think it was probably not too bad.

I don't know, wasn't in the room. Everyone on here loved it when Geads called the youth team snowballers gimps, but I suspect that's partly why our best player doesn't play. Seems sad to me.

Morgan literally said the English players were scared of McGeady. That's surely an instant red flag

McGeady seems like an absolute prick. It can't help a dressing room when he's wandering around as if he's billy big bollocks with his little clique having a dig at younger lads. Sounds like Morgan worshipped McGeady that much that he joined in the bullying of O'Nien.

It's embarrassing from him really that he's having a go at players and telling them they'll never play at a higher level. Some of them won't but they'll have maximised their potential. McGeady on the other hand had all the natural ability in the world, but has underachieved.

is it any different from supporters booing the players off the pitch after a shit performance? keane was saying how he would have been throwing punches at half time when de gea cocked up

He got one thing right - Oviedo always trying to be injured when he fell over his socks; one of the most obvious things going that, but Morgan himself looked like he never trained either - gassed after 10 mins; no tracking; no final ball.

- Total root vegetable

Honestly just what I was thinking. Do you want to send anyone up against L1 backs and CFs that's scared of f***ing McGeady? I really really like that we're a community club, but we need fearlessness.
Bullying in the dressing room is bad craic don’t get z wrong but in my job it’s sink or swim amongst the lads. You need to stick up for yourself from the off or you’ll get walked over. I’d imagine it’s the same in a dressing room.

Weak as a f***ing kitten too, quite pathetic watching him up against men.

Which game was it when he put two or three on a plate for Wyke and he missed every single one? Bristol Rovers?

Was a decent enough player here, would have had him back last season.

Now it's 1am and everyone wants a ruckus we can have a couple of pages where Geads is right and everyone needs to toughen up.

I personally couldn't give a fuck how 'tough' you think McGeady is, his performances pre-transfer window last season were f***ing embarrassing, and even if he wasn't a bullying prick, I'd want him nowhere near the first team.

The fact that he's got 1 moment of magic in him per 10 games doesn't make up for the fact that he's shite the other 99% of the time.

It's really tricky. The line between bullying and crak can be fine, and is often dependent on the recipient. It's not for us to downplay anything that might have happened - if players have felt put down, that's obviously bad.

What I get from Morgan's interview is the gap in culture that you see on this board every day. McGeady sounds jokes to me, but (like Limmy's Show?) I also wouldn't expect anyone below Nottingham to get the humour.

Met Quinn once just before he retired and he alluded to this. Said we'd never see players like him, Bally and Rae in the PL again, the new breed were too clean, too fit, too sober. In a good way, but in a very final way.

Did he score an overhead? Or did that hit the bar? There were about 3 where he nearly got world class goals for us, but I don't think he ever won us points in the end.

I’ve got no time for bullying whatsoever just to be clear and I’d nip it at source if a seen it, just to clear that up. Work with lads from Glasgow and they’re no different from us at all. Newcastle Sunderland and Central Belt Scotland has more in common than anybody anywhere else in UK in my experience.

One thing was always weird about morgan, despite looking in good shape and fully fit he could never manage to last 90 minutes.

Sounds like ross let the dressing room get out of control. Bet it was a right mess for PP to try and sort out
This is why Parkinson felt the full cliffedge of the shitfest, the stooge. :)

Talk about swirling down the tubes.

He's getting on and I'm not clamouring to have him back or owt, but fact is we were all (rightly) desperate to have him play in the playoffs, with a broken foot, he's that much better than our other players, and since that exact moment we haven't recruited anyone better.

Absolutely. Also zero tolerance where I am. I'm probably struggling to convey nuance, I'm not massively condoning McGeady, know little of what's going on there specifically.

That's kind of my point, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sunderland, (Eire), we all have a shared crak that (and I'm generalising) places like Edinburgh, London... most of the UK below Yorkshire just don't get.
...

since I love an analogy:

I understand why we can't call each other dog nonces anymore. This is a public, international forum.

Does it make me sad that some of our best posts/long range goals are being restricted by the fact we can't call each other dog nonces at will? Yes.

Is it correct that we shouldn't call each other dog nonces/play McGeady? I don't know.
