Lewis Morgan

The more I read about Jack Ross the more I think he was one of the worst managers in the clubs history. He really is down there with Moyes, Lawrie Mac, Grayson etc.

Nice bloke, really wanted him to succeed. But ultimately the job was too big for him, and after throwing automatic promotion away, he wasted what was an excellent tactical masterclass against Portsmouth in the semis by making a complete pig's ear of the Final.

Got to be one of the unfittest players we’ve had like. Visibly blowing after 20 mins half the time. Was chuffed to bits when he signed as well.

Seems a bit immature and easily led by the interviewer who I could barely understand but doesn’t really say owt that bad tbh.

Think it was Plymouth at home where he was the best player on the pitch by some distance in the first half, then he emerged for the second half and could barely muster a jog he was that knackered.

I can’t believe anyone is offended or cares about anything Lewis Morgan thinks.
I’m sure he’ll have a glittering career Celtic know that.... oh wait

The lads done well got a much bigger move than his ability dictates. I'd rather be playing with Matuidi under Beckham on a decent wage than playing in the SPL.

Limited footballer blaming club for lack of ability. We've seen it multiple times not sure why everyone's getting there knickers in a twist

James was absolute toss. We looked a much better team earlier in the season when Oviedo was in the team and we played the lop sided 352 till Ross lost the confidence in himself to play it, which he did again early last season. we were more productive when McGeady became a regular again and that was with James, Oviedo or Hume playing and with or without Maja.

Problem was Oviedo's isn't an out and out fullback, having previously been a wingback and he probed and got forward and early in the season had been our most creative player, you therefore couldn't play McGeady and Oviedo down the same side and that's likely why James got the nod after Hume's injury as much as James was shite, he was quite tenacious and didn't really comit forward.

The lull at the end coincided with McGeady's injury and a lack of goals if you care to check, the defence 'fell apart' as there was little creativity or players left to take the pressure off and score goals and we were too pedestrian centrally. Without McGeady we were knackered as we had no 'team' and the person to blame for that was Ross.

Whenever Oviedo and McGeady played together, Oviedo spent most of the game pissed off with McGeady and his inability to pass him the ball on the overlap which was one of Oviedo's strengths. They never really got on together in the slightest

Like many people, I forgot Morgan existed. He’s a totally unremarkable player and if I were him I would enrol in an Open University course because he’ll need it when he needs to ever a proper job in 5 years time.

Always gives 100%, is nice to the fans. Is well liked by us.

Couldn’t be arsed to put effort in for a playoff final, slags off players who appreciate the fans. Will be long forgotten by this time next year.

He'd have been forgotten by me had he not done this interview and became relevant all of a sudden. I was expecting much more of him given the regard he was held in by St Mirren fans, Jack Ross and some on here and getting a move to Celtic. However it soon became apparent the level he was excelling at must have been rubbish as he was nothing more than average here*

*same could also apply to Jack Ross

Masterclass when it comes off, turd when it doesn't I suppose.

Both those games (and several others) take me back to a video posted early on in his reign here where he was describing another masterclass from his time at St Mirren. It was quite long and in depth and it bored me to pieces. Essentially (and I may be doing him a disservice here) it was mostly a tight game and the emphasis was about keeping it tight in midfield and using the pace of Morgan from deep to break lines and that essentially was it.

I realise you can overcomplicate things and you can only use what you have at your disposal, but given we were sold an idea of a forward thinking bright young manager, then as well as he came across off the pitch it didn't really show in his ideas or his team mostly. Call it a step to far or too quickly, but I just don't think he was anything like the forward thinking manager we thought we had, far from it.

Can't agree about the Portsmouth play-offs being a tactical masterclass tbh. We had a decent second half against a very poor side who were low on confidence in the first leg but for the second leg the plan was clearly to just sick 10 men behind the ball and hope for a 0-0, don't think we created a genuine opportunity of any note down at their place and for some reason he went for the same approach at Wembley.

None of it is his fault though 🙄

Not too bothered by his comments.

What bothers me more is us getting yet another loan signing who offered virtually nothing. Couldn’t last more than 20 minutes and wasn’t tough enough or quick enough for the league. A waste of a loan. Meanwhile Charlton had Cullen, Bielik and proper quality loanees who made a difference.

Despite Donald’s big talk about recruitment being the be all and end all we were tragic in the transfer market and most importantly in league 1.. the loans market.

McGeady is right to make those comments. If Ross wanted him to be more balanced in the changing room he should have given him the armband. Instead he gave it to Honeyman... another error by a managerial appointment that flattered to deceive

We limped to Wembley and got lucky with an own goal ... then showed exactly what the character and ability of the team was. I.e not good
