Yeah, a kid that behaves and listen to his mam is just "playing up" to their mam as well, fans want to connect with players and they like players who work their socks off and give 100% what would he like to do ironically not try to prove how unmoved he is, fuck off man what a little snake coming out with that shit.
Calm down man. He was taking the piss out of O'Nien in the same way that no doubt Luke takes the piss out of other players. I have watched the interview and didn't think there was any malice in it. In fact it was refreshing hearing one of our players talking about what was going on behind the scenes of out shit show of a club. Morgan's comments about Donald and Methven were spot on too.
Si Ferry is a good interviewer but I think he leads Morgan on a bit here with the 'isn't McGeady great' crack and the digs at O'Nien and Cattermole. Unprofessional from Morgan but I think he's just playing up to the audience more than anything else.
^^^^This^^^^

Nowt to get worked up about.

James was picked ahead of him regularly because he was soft as shite and a shit player. Still amazes me the lack of stick Oviedo gets for his performances here. Him coming back into the team coincided massively with our defence looking horrendous. Contributed massively to the Coventry farce.
Remember the standing ovation 30k of our fans gave Oviedo when subbed v Wolves last game of our championship relegation disaster. Weird and ridiculous

What a refreshing and honest interview...... No team spirit or morale...... Some shocking things said by him but bloody honest

Exactly this mate. Been told a few stories about O'Nien going out of his way to do things for fans. Believe it or not there's 2 Wycombe fans that have been up to a lot of our homes games since he joined to watch him, O'Nien has sorted it all out for them as well. Was also told about him turning upto a bairns party after his parents contacted him telling O'Nien that the kid worshipped him. O'Nien was sat playing party games with the kids. He seems like a genuinely nice kid.

McGeady has always been a wanker, right through his career.
Aye from what I've seen where one of the players has turned up at an event its usually onien

Oviedo was soft as shite like. Never really forgave him for walking off in that Sheff Wed game near the end of the Championship season. A crucial game and it was obvious he didn't fancy it in the second half.

That said, it was an absolute joke how many times Reece James was picked ahead of him.

I actually quite liked Reece James. Thought he was decent. He did a job

Have not watched the interview, but from what I understand he says the owners knew nowt, O'Nien plays upto the fans a bit etc, nothing disrespectful to the fans or history of the club I can gather there.

I haven’t read the whole of this thread so perhaps repeating what others said.....but.....

says ‘like’ far too much

revealed a fair bit about why McGeady would have been moved on

Didn’t seem to like Cattermole and took the piss out of his shorts and socks, though did say he was intelligent. still, how dare he!

revealed that he was an unprofessional little prick at the play off final. Wasn’t ready to go on s a sub

had a cocky, annoying face when slagging off other players, the club, the owners etc.

seemed to think it was ‘uncool’ for O’nein to be reading a book. Sounded like he also enjoyed McGeady bullying O’nein for the same reason.

says ‘like’ far too much.

I agree with the OP. Prick.

I took that as a laugh at the irony of Cattermole wanting to stick around and win something and then it being his penalty that meant we didn't. Still a bit shite, but not really the same as laughing at Cattermole.
Same here but its trendy to jump on the rtg outrage bandwagon

- Clubs is a shambles off the pitch
- Hard to settle as the players were in cliques
- Hard because there were players on 40k a week in League One
- The England players couldnt deal with Aidan McGeady, he used to criticise the players and everyone was scared of him. The scottish boys loved him. "He's got a massive temper but loads of ability, winning games by himself so you've got to let him do what he wants"
- Jack Ross was good with players and letting players fight it out amongst themselves and having a go, but he can step in if it is needed
- Luke O'Nein "he'd read books or be studying but Aidan McGeady had to be smarter" so would always have a go at him (sounds like he bullied him)
- O'Nein would be "all over STID, he's always playing up to the fans, it is what it is"
- Oviedo, Cattermole were on big money - Oviedo couldn't be arsed training and wouldn't want to play away games pretending to be injured
- Cattermole and McGeady hated each other, they never even spoke
- McGuire, McGeady and Matthews were a little group not speaking to anyone else
- Cattermole wanted to stay as he wanted to win something - Morgan laughing at Cattermole missing the penalty and losing a trophy because he loved the club and wanted it so badly
- Cattermole was intelligent player
- Jack Ross refused to allow the STID in the dressing room
- The same group of boys always wanted to be on the show, "Luke O'nein or whatever"
- Ross clamped down on it
- Charlie Methven and Donald know nothing about football, their expectations were totally unrealistic
- If they had left Jack Ross in charge they'd be in the championship right now, the club was weird and not the best
- Everyone has seen Charlie on that documentary, he wanted everything to be about him and didn't know anything about football - but he didn't know anything about football so Morgan laughed at him
- The team wasn't ready to go up, so it was probably good not to go up in the playoff final
- Laughing at Luke O'nein being gutted maja left
- Everyone loved Ross
- The playoff final was a "strange one" Aidan McGeady was fuming he missed out on the final, he was injured though but he wanted to start
- Morgan's "head was gone" he wasn't starting. Said that his head was gone all week and in the warm up because he wasn't starting
- Said that when he had to go on in the final he was thinking "I'm not ready to play" because his head was gone from not starting
- We'd never of scored in ten games that day
- Nobody spoke after the final ,jack ross never spoke to anyone
- Morgan immediately packed up his stuff and fucked off not speaking to anyone
- Laughing at O'Nein again

Cheers for typing that out. It seems like he's a cynical arsehole reading that, strange for someone so young.

Not that he didn't say those things, but I think some of it comes down to context and the way it was said when watching it. Morgan seems to try to choose his words carefully but still manages to give away more than he wanted to.
Imagine being unprofessional/ thick enough to say you didn’t try in a wembley final
Even that, he's saying he sulked all week and when he got the chance to come on two minutes in he wasn't ready, and he realises that was a mistake. But the way he says it, bringing McGeady into it, it comes across more arrogant than genuinely reflective.

Simon Ferry doing well in his new job.
Decent player and a cracking laugh in his company.

He always manages to have a great rapport with the people he's talking to but his voice drives me up the wall.

On another note, I have no idea what Morgan did to think he should have walked into the Playoff final team. McGeady was injured but at least you can understand why he thought he should play, but Morgan?

The number of people who think bullying in the changing room is a positive thing. Do you think Liverpool under Klopp and captained by Henderson would tolerate bullying of their young players? McGeady is an arsehole, needs a team to build their entire system around him and hes now close to 35 and a busted flush.

He can fuck off.

Laughing at a Sunderland captain missing a penalty in a play off final because of the irony of him wanting it so much. You don't have a problem with that?

fair enough - each to their own.
The interviewer was egging him on and he laughed, yes, but I don't think he was really mocking Catermole to be honest. He also praised him and said you could see he was good player on the training ground.

I watched it and, from the comments here, expected him to be mocking the club and I didn't hear that at all. I thought he was being honest which is refreshing to hear, rather than the usual clichéd shite which some people would clearly prefer.

Spent some time with him when he was at Swindon.
Infectious lad, should and could have done more with his career. A very tidy midfielder and at the time up there with Richie and Caddis.
Richie clearly a PL player now and Caddis still playing and back with us and a cracking player.

It was just over a year ago and he was twenty one years old, he’s not a teenager. It’s hardly like he’s reflecting his career and he’s learnt and changed. It’s embarrassing.

I believe you think differently from you comments, but from my point of view that interview is a joke for him first and foremost. That lack of respect and professionalism is a disgrace to all those that pay his wages. You can talk about context all you want, but to me it doesn’t matter.

I see Stephen Elliot has criticized him on twitter for his lack of professionalism too and he knows more about the game and mentality in sports then I do.

So that's Morgan, John McLaughlin and Ross to name just 3 who have made it sound like an absolute shambles behind the scenes under Donald. Suspect there'll be plenty more who've been here in the last couple of years slating them down the line as well.

o'nien always helps out the foundation of light and goes the extra mile for them. Shame the same cant be said of the other players we have had over the years ( o'shea and vito notable exceptions who both did more than their fair share )
