Let's discuss the Monarchy

Wide awake marra.
Just bored shitless by whinging losers who cannot accept that 54% of the population continue to rubbish their ideal.
It's boring man.
Don't worry not long to go now in the grand scheme of things. It was 73% a decade ago.
I'm simply updating a discussion that was had in September - positive view of the monarchy above 60% then - when I was challenged to make a forecast on support for a monarchy/republic. It might even have been you who asked it - between bowing and forelock tugging.

Wouldn't have been me that asked mate.
Pointless exercise.
Ask someone on the losing side what will happen in the future, they will always say they will win eventually.
Pointless question to ask.
Ask Niel Kinnock marra.

I've been told if you're not needed for the day, they sometimes send you home. Knowing my luck I'll get a long boring fraud case and lose some of my days off. I have every other Friday off, so will miss one at least.

I sat in a Liverpool court waiting area for two weeks, every day, was never called. I asked to be excused for a job interview. They said ok. I got the job

Harrison Ford to play me in the movie.

I'd never thought of it that way but you're probably right. It will be abolished, it's just a matter of time

I don't think it will be. It'll modernise as best it can, but i won't be abolished. King Billy will have a lot of work to do to make it relatable to the younger generations, but he'll have *ahem* some youth on his side. It's not like it'll be another 70+ year old taking the throne.

It won't marra.
Most people want it, and continue to want it, no matter how unpalatable that may be for some.
Just as funny as fuck watching them fume and have tantrums because they aren't getting their own way, and then resort to childish name calling like "bowers and scrapers", or "forelock tuggers".
🤣🤣🤣

I guess is there was a small percentage of say 20-30 year old that did not support the monarchy in 1960's was smaller than those that did but statistically are more likely to have gone on a journey to whereas now they are in their 70s are more likely to be pro monarchy than not.

Now the problem the monarchy has today for its future is more young people are anti monarchy than pro and the numbers that will have to go on a journey to being in favour of the monarchy as they get older is going have be huge for it too survive.

I bet as a 35 yr old bloke I know fewer pro monarchists than my dad did at 35 yr old and he will have known fewer than his dad when he was 35 yr old. I have been too uni, worked up and down the country and I have met two pro monarchist and bizarrely both scousers and one was was a couple of years younger than me but one went to every royal event they could. They other, fella in his forties went to every major event the British and dutch royal familyput on for their plebs.

another difficulty for the monarchy, and is probably why even amongst monarchists aren't asking for a referendum, it would be a very hard sell, particularly in a cost of living crisis. selling the status quo is very difficult.

Not sure how you can be so certain. In 250 years time, they’ll have done very well to remain as heads of state

I think tbh we have bigger fish to fry than who sits in Buck House .

They have ZERO power and its kind of irrelevant.

I wish we didn't have to keep hearing about them - but hey if 60% of the population have playdough between their ears and actively seek that crapola out - not much I can do about it

Biggest imperatives atm are

1. Reading the last Rites to the Tory Party and producing a memorial to their shiteness with Johnsons face on it

2. Sorting out / reversing the Brexit MESS which is completely destabilising the country

3. Getting PR .... which will mean the 60% of quite bright people are no longer dictated to by the minority of utter Dullards

In 250 years time, I couldn't give a fuck marra.
It's just in my lifetime, to ensure this generation of self righteous, pontificating knowalls are proved wrong.
As is happening.
Now they can read this, and jump up and down, stamp their feet, have their tantrums, throw abuse at me, but they know that for the entirity of their lifetime, their will be a monarchy in this country.
That is precious.

So here comes the childish name calling and abuse, because they deep down know I'm correct 😁

Oh I see. I meant long term, it probably will be abolished. Yes probably not within 50 years or so

State of this man

Charles will never die. With his cash, modern medical miracles, cloning, deep fakes. No need to be seen in real life anymore. He’s not giving that up after all the effort he’s put into getting the fecking job.

or he’ll piss about a bit bing a daft hippie talking shite in a job he should never’ve got.

Who’s having tantrums and abusing people? I do not agree with that in the workplace.

Your imperatives are correct, your statement that they have zero power is not. They have a lot of power, both politically and constitutionally.
