Whether there is as much demand for it isn’t the point. On average there will be girls in every year who wish to play. And not all of them will have that opportunity.

What's funny? Football isn't the preferred sport of most girls.
In schools where its an option, possibly. Not in the many schools where it isn't. Which is what the movement is about.Surely Girls do play!!!!!
I assumed you’d had a beer yesterday but it turns out you’re just a bit dim.So girls can play football with equal opportunity then?
So why create the illusion that they can't? Poor and divisive and has already taken in a few on this thread.
It’s the people basing their opinion on their own school experience 30 years ago that are the most entertaining.I mean the actual statistics have been posted on the thread, and people are still saying it’s not true because one lass they know used to kick a ball around.

Yeah mate we generally all got mixed in together except for rugby and football at younger ages - but some of the better girls would sometimes play footy in lads PE lessons. Played cricket together tooYou don't think they should be allowed a kick about at school marra?
Did lasses play football at your school in P.E? Did the girls have a team? Wasn't an option at our lasses school in P. E. for them.
Are you a school teacher?I have two girls in my u9s team
Tbf, attitudes will have changed and progressed surely. So if some schools were allowing lasses to play 30 years ago you'd expect those schools, and more to be offering it now.I assumed you’d had a beer yesterday but it turns out you’re just a bit dim.

Fair enough marra. I'm not aware of any girls school football teams in comprehensive schools that I and other mates went to. That might be down to girls not showing interest I suppose.Yeah mate we generally all got mixed in together except for rugby and football at younger ages - but some of the better girls would sometimes play footy in lads PE lessons. I’m almost certain we had a dedicated girls team as well who played against other schools
No need to be abusive because you disagree with me Mick. You're better than that.I assumed you’d had a beer yesterday but it turns out you’re just a bit dim.

But most of not all out of school teams have girls. Might not play it in school which is wrong but its not like they can’t play.In schools where its an option, possibly. Not in the many schools where it isn't. Which is what the movement is about.
mux, people on here have said that some girls today can’t play at school - it is their personal experience - and someone has linked to data from the FA as evidence that it is trueNo need to be abusive because you disagree with me Mick. You're better than that.

Those students also come away with a 4 year degree. I agree with you in that the money surrounding it all is insane. College football and basketball here are much bigger in some areas than pro sports.I think it has a lot to do with their traditional draft systems in football (American). The colleges and universities retain professional talent until a certain age and make an absolute fortune from them.
Whereas in Uk the kids who are decent go pro immediately.
They can wet wipes getting upset over nothing.Just asked my 13yr old daughter. Does play football in PE but the quality is v poor. She plays up a year girls football for the school. And has been asked to play for the boys school team. She also plays for an RTC and a top boys team. So I'm not sure how girls "can't play"!
