Try telling it to the FA, and getting them to allow the teams that have good players progress through the leagues, rather than favouring the ones with fashionable branding created by the mens teams

The lasses could play at our school, but chose not to. They always played hockey or netball.

In juniors they'd with just play that daft game where they clap hands together, skip, or stand behind the goal and shreek as the ball blasted off them.

Aey
I probably jumped in
Cant get away with lasses football , I’m old school marra
It's been a decent tournament IMO (keepers though ). Obviously the mens game is a different stratosphere but then I enjoy watching women's tennis and again theyd never have a chance against the men.

Love a good lasses tennis match with the grunts
Used to love watching Chrissy Lloyd in her skimpy dress

No wonder women can’t cook anymore and leave us men to do it all.
Their little hobbies have taken over domestic chores.

Not reading the replies btw. In a thread about folk playing the victim, being criticised for not accepting it feels like compound interest on a guilt card I've not even spent on.

It's just occurred to me that in 2017 I played in a work's five-a-side and one of the games my team played against a few women and it was a good laugh. So naw, I've actually enabled women to play football. 😇

Schools should have girls teams. It's a no brainer. My old school did, but they couldn't find enough players with hockey and netball being the preferred choice for girls.

I can't believe this even needs a hashtag. Get girls playing footy man.
Certain "diverse" schools?
All schools man you dipshit. What's "diverse" about girls forming school leagues and competing against each other?

Lass plays for my eldest lads team u11. Just gone to 9v9 She’s CB. Probably one of the best players. There’s not many of the lads we come up against can shift her off the ball.

The two should not be compared. Girls and women should be allowed to forge their own way in football without unfair comparisons to the men's game.

That is what has held back women's football for the last two decades in my humble opinion.

I don't think shouting inequality and making unfair comparison is the way to progress the women's game. Instead, show how good you are.

The lionesses are doing this and succeeding fantastically.

Let's not make the girls grassroots game all about playing the victim. It gives off the wrong message and its bad for progress. Let them shine.
But that’s the modern way mate.

So girls can play football with equal opportunity then?

So why create the illusion that they can't? Poor and divisive and has already taken in a few on this thread.

All about getting groups of people convinced they're hard done to so they hate the other ones. It's vile.
"They're stopping you from doing stuff and if they deny it, they're DEFINITELY stopping you." Shit-stirring pricks.

No need for it.

Division sows division.

Instead of pretending you're not allowed to play football, why not celebrate the fact that you are and try to get people together and involved and interested.

One of the best players in my primary school team was a lass. That was in the early 90s.
Girls and often more developed physically at Primary school age so no real surprise.
But at secondary school I bet football wasnt part of her PE curriculum? My daughter plays football for a team and there are a lot more teams for girls to play football, but I still think most secondary schools don't have football as part of girls PE...which is what Ian Wright is talking about
A very good point. I had no netball opportunities either. This fact is often ignored.
