girls doing sport past 13/14 is an even bigger issue.
I don't know to be honest as she went to St Anthony's and I went to St Aidan's.But at secondary school I bet football wasnt part of her PE curriculum? My daughter plays football for a team and there are a lot more teams for girls to play football, but I still think most secondary schools don't have football as part of girls PE...which is what Ian Wright is talking about
Apparently not according to Wrighty. They can play can't they?
Dinnar to be honest.Your team must have been shite mind.
What a surprise that it’s you asking this question.
This. My daughter's club has an absolute load of teams now. She loves it.My eldest plays for two age grades U9 and a U8 team. She’s football daft.
There are loads of girls teams now. Think they’ve got 14 girls teams at her club.
It’s just exploded in terms of participation and it’s great to see

If some schools are stopping girls playing football and that’s being highlighted I’m not sure how it can be interpreted as “playing the victim”.The two should not be compared. Girls and women should be allowed to forge their own way in football without unfair comparisons to the men's game.
That is what has held back women's football for the last two decades in my humble opinion.
I don't think shouting inequality and making unfair comparison is the way to progress the women's game. Instead, show how good you are.
The lionesses are doing this and succeeding fantastically.
Let's not make the girls grassroots game all about playing the victim. It gives off the wrong message and its bad for progress. Let them shine.
#letusplay infers they aren't allowed.Who is playing the victim though?
Apart from a significant number of schools…#letusplay infers they aren't allowed.
That's evidentially a load of bollocks designed to create a narrative that they are fighting against something.
Like I said, I have female family who have played football to high levels. My family know Jill Scott, England International.
Little girls have all the opportunities that little boys have in kids football. My neice plays in a mixed team and has for years. She's just a bairn.
There is no lack of opportunity. Nobody is stopping girls from playing football. It's a marketing ploy that will cause division and slow down progress.

It is, all sports like cricket, hockey, rugby have pathways. Foundation of Light does itShame its not the same for the lasses.
It's not. It's a fact plenty of schools don't have football as an option for lasses during P. E. I'm shocked tbh.It is, all sports like cricket, hockey, rugby have pathways. Foundation of Light does it
Maybe, but its offered out of school hours and holidaysIt's not. It's a fact plenty of schools don't have football as an option for lasses during P. E.
Did she play football in P. E at school.? Did your daughters school have a girls team? This. My daughter's club has an absolute load of teams now. She loves it.
