RIP Len. I remember him scoring against the mags in the Fulwell End with a well hit cross that carried over their goalie and under the bar.
A scouser who Alan Brown signed up as a young lad.
Part of a long term full back partnership, Cec and Len.

In my first season of watching the lads ,Len and Ces Irwin were the fullbacks, both good honest pros .

Not sure Len chose the best type of football for his skills. His kicking for touch down the left wing was legendary. Having said that, as a player, he was rock hard, brave, dependable and totally loyal to SAFC. Yes, a true legend.
